Any issues that I should be wary of/need to knowm like will it fit!!

Am more interested in a bit of noise than overall performance BUT any clues as to what it would do?

Yes it will fit... no problem.

I have a P1 exhaust on my MY96 (all classic shapes have the same backbox mounts etc)...

Is it the standard P1 exhaust or the prodrive item?

The standard P1 is the same as an STi exhaust and is what I have.
I was expecting nothing more than it looking good..
but it made a slight increase in sound and a lot deeps..
The bigger shock wass that the turbo spins up quicker!

The Prodrive item is a fair bit louder than you standard exhaust and will release a bit of extra power.
