Unhappy Advice needed

I have to replace the air con compressor on my 2008 2ltr R sport Impreza so just want to know if it a straightforward job and do I need any special tools

I'm guessing the a/c system will need to be de-gassed, new compressor fitted, then re-gassed.
Not a job I would take on in my driveway, not with R34a refrigerant gas involved.
But then I could be mistaken......
You can buy a can of gas from Halfords for about £40 I think, so if your gas has already mostly gone, you could be ok.

Tbh its a easy job, how many car AC systems loose gas every day and the owners dont die, you are supposed to contain it, but what happens when O rings and hoses fail,
Id just crack on and replace, then just go to the local tyre place and pay £21 for a refill and clean,
If you go on the likes of Groupon on there are always AC refill deals.
