Does it sound like someone blowing accross a bottle top? If so then no panic, you are just leaking boost and a new DV is cheap and easy to fit.

It does it on mine, I asked the question a few weeks ago and got the response something along the lines of...

It's exhaust gas escaping between the turbo and DP joint beacause of the seal.

yeah, the metallic rattle is sometimes the gasket fluttering at the turbo flange, try replacing it.

Think it was someone from scoobymania that gave that answer. Only started when I addded the HKS Downpipe. Like you I thought it was the turbo, I've done nothing about it yet but I guess I'll stick some exhaust seal between the DP and turbo when I get the chance.

It was me that fitted the DP and I know for a fact there is no gasket between it and the turbo.

Can't see how it could cause any damage.

I think it would do it when the DP heats up because I have no seal between the DP and turbo, heat would expand the metal and could create a gap and the whole joint could move hence rattle.
