Question

Having sold my Scooby, I'm borrowing my brothers' white Citreon Xantia for a few months until my new Golf arrives, and I thought I'd spruce it up a bit.

It's been kept mainly in an open barn, with a dusty, chalky floor or parked in the open - both sites are also fairly close to the sea.

After I washed it, I could see that the horizontal surfaces (i.e. bonnet, roof and spoiler) were dull and felt slightly rough to the touch. The paint is bright white though, with no signs of discolouration at all except for some small pale grey stains here and there. I guessed that the dull finish is due to oxidation and possibly attack by the alkaline chalk dust, and the grey stains are from seagull pooh

I tried polishing (Autoglym Super Resin), but it was still dull, so I resorted to T-Cut, re-polished and then applied Autoglym High Gloss Protection.

It's looking a lot better, rain beads quite nicely, but it still hasn't got that sparkle that I know the Autoglym stuff can achieve on cars with paint in good condition to start with.

Any suggestions for getting it sparkling? I've seen Wax Wizard recommended a few times, but where can I get it?

Cheers
Tim

Wax Wizard is great stuff. You can get it from Mark, the Wax Wizard himself. E mail him and he will be more than happy to help you out.

No luck with Wax Wizard, the URL above seems to be a dead end. I found a website with an enquiry form but no response......

I see. That web site is Marks new associates. His products will have the name Swissol now and that is the official website. It is only available in German but it will soon be available in English.

Try any of these three e mail addies then.
waxwizard@eurobell.co.uk
mark@swissol.co.uk
u_mark@hotmail.com

As for Meguiars I used to use it on my scoob and it is great. I then tried the Wax Wizard products and IMHO they are quite a bit better and easier to use.

Cheers,

Wrexy.

I think the above addy didn't work cos your not supposed to put URL on e mail addies.
