I have a Gearbox that was sent to me from a scrap merchant which didn't fit my turbo2000, can the transmission code be obtained from the vin? as that's all i have, its jf1gdakd34g037617 all i can work out is it's a 2004 wrx sedan impreza, any help will be extremely welcome. and if anyone's interested in it just let me know.

 

the gearbox sent should have a TY number on the side that will ID its origin

both cars you mention use very similiar TY754 boxes so not sure why it wont/doesn't fit??

can the code be identified from the vin at all?
