Default 5 Speed replacement Gears

I've recently blown my reverse gear in my WRX 5 Speed at 88k miles.
Not sure which route to go down, as i don't fancy the 6 speed conversion (not to mention the costs involved).

I was originally thinking of just buying a 2nd hand 5 speed however i'll be running around 300bhp so i was interested to see the replacement gears offered such as the PPG straight cut Dog set, however i can't seem to find a replacement for reverse!

Am i being dumb, or is reverse not a replacement gear offered? Does reverse normally not break, meaning my gearbox may be beyond reasonable repair? All my forward gears work perfectly but if i'm going to the effort of stripping it down to replace reverse (if its possible) then the others would be worth be doing too. Or should i scrap the idea of repair and just buy a reconned 5 speed?

All thoughts are appreciated!

Think reverse is part of the mainshaft, you need to open it up tbh and see what's damaged.

How did you break reverse? there straight cut so quite strong lol

Cheers for that, the company got back to me too and said that some of their dog sets contain the reverse gear. But way out of my price range!
When i bought the car the reverse gear was always making a far less than pleasant noise and not just the straight cut whine but more grindy. Then i stopped after reversing and hopped out of my car quickly to do something and forgot to put it in neutral! So a stall in reverse killed it. No idea what a previous owner had done to it though!

Id personally strip it open and see what the deal is, there's plenty of people on here who have killed a 5speed so you could get hold of one for cheap.
Yeah the price of 5speed ppg and dog box you could get a 6 speed dccd setup lol
