I pulled onto a dual carriageway which was empty so thought I'd put my foot down, went through the gears and when I got to the 5th gear I heard a loud tapping sort of noise.

I didn't lose power, the car didn't drive any different, just had a loud tapping noise.

I've tried googling it and this is the closest I can find to a noise being similar, I don't know if its the same issue but to me, the noise in the video is the same, but mine seemed a lot more quiet.


I pulled over and the noise stopped, I tried revving it and no noise. I drove on carefully with no noise, later on my drive home I tried boost to see if the noise would happen again, nothing!

All weekend I've been out and about driving around and tried using boost every now and again, yet no noise.

Any ideas?

 

Sorted it! It was the under tray had come loose and was flapping in the wind at high speed!
