Default Help please - Noise after 6 Speed conversion

I sold a gearbox with prop diff hubs and shafts to someone who after fitting it is hearing these noises:

The box is from a 2004 STi but he's using a clutch and flywheel from a 08 Hatch STi.
The sound goes when he presses the clutch.....

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is any part number on it as abbassti could be sure its from his gearbox?
No idea You could do it with wrong clutch.

What condition was the box in when it came out of the previous car, was it all working fine and what sort of time scale are we talking about.

Why does the guy that bought it need a new box?

Also OP send a pm to david @API for confirmation of the gear set and if it's ok to use the 08 parts.

Hello, i buy this box for my WRX. My mechanics fit the new gearbox, starter, diff, hubs and etc. At 15 November was my first start engine after long period of rebuild (rhd to lhd conversion, sti conversion, bug to hawk front end and etc..) Immediately after we start i hear that scary sound..

I hope disassembly and assembly is not very expensive.

Me too Emanuil

From my side, I bought the car without an engine from a very reputable guy from here. I trust the previous owner 100% no doubts at all. When I bought the car, my intention was to slap a standard engine in and use it as a daily drive.
If I had any doubts in the box I wouldn't have sent £3475 to Jap Performance parts for an engine to complete the car. The engine was low on compression, so they refunded me and I decided to break it.

I am stuck in the middle here, there was a long gap between Emanuil telling me the clutch and flywheel from the 08 Hatch worked and being informed of a problem. 10 days in fact, Emanuil says this was while his engine was being fitted. This is more an evidence for Emanuil than against really as if he was trying it on, he wouldn't have told me the clutch and flywheel worked...........

If APi or anyone else can chime in it would be greatly appreciated.

"It works, i mean it fits" I told you that because my mechanic said it. But then the box was not even a car. He mounted the box on 13 November. On November 14, I got the transmission fluid "Redline". The next day (15) we put antifreeze and we make a first start on engine while the car was on the lift. At first I thought that the noise coming from the engine. When i press the clutch, sound disappeared. Then mechanics told me that there is a problem with the box. Immediately i told to Abyss and sent him video.

Having sold my Impreza to AbbasSTI after deciding to pull the plug on my 2.35 engine build I can confirm that the box was running perfectly fine before I took the car off the road, I had no issues whatsoever with the box!

All STI 6 speed use the same clutch. My clutch work fine. After we start engine on lift, we test all gears and they worked fine. But as I said, there was a very loud noise from the box. When we opened the box and saw the missing piece of the 2nd gear.
