Whats the best option to stop the constant rattle weld them up or throw them away or just replace them.I am going to jack it up today to see if I can do a DIY job on them.The noise is so embarrassing.

ah,heatshields,the bain of my life....if the offending shield is the one adjacent to the oil filter,probably best to leave it on.
i have weld repaired the mounting flanges on mine,still rattled,i tried big washers,little washers,spring washers,still rattled,i inserted spacers between the two halves,still bluddy rattled.
finally,i'm ashamed to say,i wrapped a huge hose clip around the entire thing.

 

Yes it's the one next to the oil filter, if the hose clip works it will be worth it,so thanks for the info I will try it.
Anyone else got any idea's on stopping the rattle?
