Default Rocker gasket

Hi,

I get an oil smell when I stop in traffic and it looks like my right hand side rocker gasket leaks.

Where can I buy a new one?

Can I change it without taking the engine out?

Car is a 2001 wrx.

Cheers,

Dan

Try a search on here.loads of info.
import car parts.
can do it in 2 hours first go.
don't need engine out.
definitely need small rachet or 10mm spanner.
buy new bolts and seals as well as gasket.

I've just finished doing this. Get a copy of the factory service manual (on this forum, do a search). It's not difficult but you're meant to put sealant (Threebond 1215) on top of the gasket before you fix it down. It has to applied only in certain areas and you won't know this without guidance. I would also replace the 2 half moon seals and the gasket to the oil breather plate. You can buy a kit from import car parts which has rocker gasket, 8 bolt seals and the oil breather gasket. The half moons are available separately. Definitely best to get genuine Subaru parts. Also check out Youtube for guides. I didn't have a ratchet spanner but a 1/4" socket set will do.
