Default Notchy accelerator pedal (blob eye)

Hi

Anyone else had this problem, the gas pedal seems a bit stiff and when you apply pressure there's a fair bit of resistance then it goes and over revs, makes it a bit tricky when pulling away or in traffic. I've greased up the pedal mechanism and spring and the engine side of the cable is free and smooth. Could this just be the cable is dry or are they all a bit like this?

Thanks

I had this problem and could not hold a neutral throttle when cornering on track which made things interesting at times, I ended up fitting a new cable as the inner lining of the cable had worn.

Ah ok, sounds like I may need to do the same then, are they easy enough to change or awkward to route through? Where did you get the replacement from? Thanks

I had to get one from a genuine Subaru dealer.

Take about 10 minutes, disconnect both ends, tie a piece of string on one end and pull the cable through. Attach the new cable onto the string and pull it back through and reconnect to pedal and throttle, adjust the cable to remove slack by the adjuster at the throttle end. The pedal end can be a bit awkward and remember the rubber grommet on the bulkhead.

have you checked your Mats arent fouling,
I know a few that have issues with mats catching,
cheap and easy to check.
