3 Port a Boost Solenoid
I know there is a lot on these, and I've had a search but can't find what I'm after.
I need to replace my 2 port boost solenoid as it's buggered, which I'm happy to buy a replacement. I was going through the box of spares that was given to me and it has a 3 port solenoid in the box.
Now I've read that I cannot do a straight swap, as my car would run awful with it, is this correct or can it be swapped over? I've also read that it is a good upgrade when going for power but needs to be mapped in.
Thanks in advance.
P.S. Is there a general Q&A thread? If not there should be, I'm asking questions left, right and centre.

The 3 port will give more stable boost control over a 2 port. The issues as far as I know, is that it runs a different duty to achieve correct boost levels across the rev range. So its not a like for like swap and although a full remap probably isnt needed, it still needs tweaking.
