Anyone know where to buy a 'cheap' P1?
Evening all,
I have been a fan of P1s for a quite a long time now mainly due to the events in history that surrounded the formation of a 'Brutal B-road Blaster'
and the urge has now started to become greater what with Pro-drive's building closing down. Budget wise I am looking to spend max 6/7k although I may spend a bit extra if I personally believe the car is worth it. I do not want to entertain 'sheds' obviously but I do not wholesomely agree to the concept that you are required to pay a substantial amount of money for a well maintained and cared for P1 - as I have seen a few modest examples appear just not as frequently

The reason why I started this thread is because I have searched through numerous websites in order to fulfill my desire but yet I am limited to the number of options available. Thus, if anyone has any information regarding a P1 for sale which may not be advertised or is and fits my criteria, or could, then feel free to pop up

not for £6k...you need more like £8k for a good one that need no work .

How important do you think it is to keep limited edition cars standard? If you look down the line do you think that it would have been a mistake to mod the p1 wr1 rb320 and so on?
I am getting a hawkeye and will be getting the engine forged and turned etc but would like to start with a rb320 but am to scared to mess about with a limited car.
Not sure there's a point to tuning limited cars I would much rather see a "normal" car modded.

My WRX RA as 4 pots and a Titanium back box fitted as upgardes but no more. I have been offered more than I paid for it in February and the mileage is below 50k (currently 70200KMs). If a P1 is high priced it would have to be as original as possible for me to buy it.
By modding it you take away what the car is about. Things like FMIC, bigger turbo's, body kits etc etc just dilute what the car really is.
Totally agree with the close to standard as possible, My type r was a great drive on standard 16's running 320bhp brakes were crap though, but they served as a reminder that it was time to slow down and start driving normally again.

Best bet is probably to keep it at modest/standard power and just look for factory upgrades when possible such as Prodrive 6-Pots and Recaros

I sense a note of sarcasm in your reply.
I was actually referring to collecting parts on the quite, one of the deciding factors in my buying this particular blob wagon was that it had 1100 quids worth of AP 4 pots on the front, which will be erm missing
when I come to sell it as they are ear marked to go on my type r if I ever manage to get it back on the road.

I understand what you mean as sometimes cheap Subarus (due to being a salvage, spares and repairs, etc) do pop up with those type of extas and it works out a better deal to buy the car instead of individual parts. Maybe a donor P1 would be a good idea but i can only comment when an Impreza pops up with some nice choice mods that I could take advantage of
