Have recently purchased a classic Sti V5.

Only Mods are as follows on the car -
Toyo sport decat down pipe 3" stainless
Scorpion middle to back section stainless

Few things, engine management light does come on from time to time, im guessing this is due to the decat, whats the best way round this?

Also as it has a decat does the car need to be mapped, havent really boosted the car in my ownership.

Have read that the v5 standard ecu can be remapped.

Have also considered removing the decat and trying to make the car to standard as the exhaust is fairly loud.

Not looking to go down the big bhp route as I am happy with the car as it is.

What i would like is some adivce on the best mods to do to try to keep the car running safely and healthy.

Regardless of any mods, I would fit a new maf sensor and get it mapped.

 

If it's been decat, then it needs to be mapped.

just ringing a few garages for prices have rang API so far and thwaites in the midlands. Will give scooby clinic a call to and GGR.

Will need to find a cat for mot time or may get rid of the decat

 

As already advised buy a brand new Maf sensor as these are engine killers on the impreza of that year. Speak to Alyn at AS performance as he is one of the cheapest and offers next day delivery
