Hi Guys

Okay after speaking with Ian, have a look at the below link. Hopefully it works.

As an example, dover to dunkirk ferry crossing is £78 return.

Departure time i selected for this was 11am dep with a return time of 4pm the following weekend, now these are open to suggestions but it gives you an idea.

I would have preferred the tunnel, but after speaking to big daz about it costing double it seems the ferry is the ideal chance for a break from driving and a bit of banter.
that sounds fine to me Matt.

I agree, the tunnel would of been a better option for me too but the price of the ferry crossing around half of the tunnel it does make sense so I'll go with what everyone else is doing.
Any idea how long the crossing is??? Been around 35 years since I last went on a ferry over to froggy land.

Crossing time = 1 Hr 30 mins. There is a Shell at the Dover portside and a Tesco with Momentum just off the motorway in Ashford on the way, the RA's may need both .

The options are good for numerous crossing but I suggest booking as close to 11.00hrs (12.00hrs French time) would suit a not too early start from Wales.

I have space in my place the night before for any of those who are way out West .

I think the majority are happy to go with the ferry but will wait for the others to also agree or disagree but by the response so far is heading in the right direction.

Hi all

Sounds like we are all good for the ferry. If there is any disagreement, i'll book mine this week.

I intended to do it over the bank holiday but had alittle mishap with the car but it seems all is back on track and it will be sorted in time.

Ditto. As near to 11am as I can get Dover-Calais. What carry are you booking with Matt?

Bought a car travel kit today. £18 less a few pence all in.

Did a full tank to Market Drayton and back in the RA over the weekend. Mixed driving of some hard acceleration to get around trucks and tractors, cruising on/off boost and dual carriageway using the A470, A483, A49, A5 and A53. Using Tesco Momentum/V Power brimmed to the top, managed 465 kms = 288 miles.

Not bad really.

You fancy coming?

No firm route as yet but one or two more tweaks and we should be there.

Thats really good mate, 288 miles for an RA is a rarity.

Made me raise an eyebrow. I am thinking of having a look at the ECU.

Gents, I've just heard back from Simon (my mate who does the track tuition at the Nurburgring) and he's given me some info that may just throw a spanner in the works about our visit to the ring on our back.
The Ring will be closed on the 12th and 13th of September due to a VLN race and all hotels are fully booked not sure if our dates could be jigged around the race weekend dates at all??
