World Cup Qatar Construction Death Toll

How do we (who is this we anyway? I certainly have never bought anything made in Qatar) get things cheap because the Qataris don't care if migrant workers die or not? You imply that this is OK by you?

And unless you are living some sort of hermit life, Global trade these days may mean that goods and at least the components (eg Oil -> plastic) can come from anywhere and I doubt the average consumer would be able to see any label stating "Made in Qatar".
Assuming that Robsy is talking global trade then yes we all pay (or rather save) for cheap manufacturing practices as we all want cheap consumer goods. How is that achieved, well just look at all the health and safety issues with clothing factories in Bangladesh.
Conversely I think it's moronic to suggest that I (or anyone) can know that everything we have purchased was made with good health and safety of the workers being high on the agenda..

Never purchased petrol or used gas?

I do not look for the cheapest goods possible. I look for the best value based on a number of criteria. I'm not sure where you think my post suggests that I or anyone else's purchases are 'blood-free' for want of a better term.
Good point about the petrol though or at least it would be if you describe petrol/gas as 'cheap' as per Robsy's post.

Qatar was the best option for FIFA ( officials) . The brown envelopes had secured the venue way before any vote was taken. I can't wait to see the £250000 a week footballers sweat in the desert. Has for the migrant deaths it's been happening for years so why are the media so bothered all of a sudden.

It's a sad reality of life. Media are generally not interested if people die building a new factory or similar.

Because the corruption is so blatant in this whole saga that there's so many pages of stories to run. And I'm sure the media are also reflecting the mood of the nation that yet again England is overlooked as host of a World Cup, yet a country such as this is deemed worthy - makes it all the more bitter to swallow. We are doing everything we can to cause problems for FIFA and get the whole thing annulled.

Blatant corruption is blatant.
