I'd love to hug big cats like he does. I would like to add that as I've seen these creatures quite closely even as adult big cats, they really do stink very bad! So bad that I might change my mind, even if the big cat is completely hypnotised. I don't know how Kevin Richardson bears their stench. He's now mates with Hyenas as well. The guy is off his trolley!

I do cuddle and kiss my responsive miniature lions loads without any fear of getting eaten alive by them, which is good. My older cat became quite emotionally distant since we got the younger fatty. But since older one's accident last year, she has had done a U-turn. My unconditional care for her during her recovery period has shown her who her real friends are. Now she has re-kindled her cuddly relationship with me again.

 

Guy I know is a big South African called John.



His bravery is only matched by his stupidity! That's probably 800lbs pressing down on his shoulders!

I do play like that with my little cats, and it's fun.

Your kitten is an adult now, anyway. I hear that one year of their life is equal to 7 years of human's life. With that, my fat cat is 49 years old, and the skinny cat is 77. Your kitten is nearly 7 years old at his 8 months spent on this earth.


OK, next time you go to Africa, get yourself pictured with a big cat like that. I bet even if whole African army is standing not far away from you with their guns and canons, you'll be crying with sheer fear of being in the same cage as them.

If they can kill a killer lion with mere twigs to defend themselves, kudos to them. I bet you can't do that either even with hundred peeps- never mind two more like you with you.

 

I think Maine Coon are classed as Kittens until 12-18 months due to their slow growth rate. I know Royal Canin Maine Coon kitten biscuits are for use up to 18 months.

 

Officially classed as adults at 9 months.

My cat used to be cute, now is just a pain in the ****. ****s in the garden even though he has a perfectly good litter box, which we empty on a regular basis. And the hair *****.....don't even get me started on them.

If I had the choice again, I wouldn't bother. It was the wifes idea but I stupidly went along with it.

He is a grumpy little ****e most of the time anyway. When he does want some fuss, he will turn on you are any point, without warning.

 

No wonder this cat looks a bit p1ssed off in the first pic lol ...... A happy ending tho.

You have a temperamental cat there. Mine are just mental with some little temper, not much.

What I understand is that cats generally aren't at your disposal. You are at theirs instead. They only nag you for one thing i.e. for food. Other than that, they don't give a sh$t to you. Not even when you lay a nice litter tray out for the purpose.

There are some attention hungry cats out there, but they mostly want their neck and belly stroked, or they like to rub their cheeks on you to mark you with their no-smell scent. Mine like to be cuddled and stroked, but they don't pester me for that. The only pestering I get is when they start weaving an invisible web around my feet with the demand for their food as soon as I get home.

Just thought I'd make a small update. Got me wee Kitten about 8 weeks ago, she's an absolute wee legend. Took her from a very weird couple then spent a small fortune on getting a vet to check her over as she had a few problems but all is well now and has made my house a very messy home!

Shame Maine Coon's aren't lap cats.

We used to have a British Blue kitten that would crawl between us every night and hook one claw into my *** and fall asleep.

 

Please keep cats indoors. It will save me wanting to skin them when they use my garden as a toilet to keep their own house clean. Current defences are a toilet seat made of holly and quick access to the hose pipe, which they love.

 

My cats never poo in others' gardens. I've never had any complaints of that or any sort about my cats.

 

Put Garlic granules where they ****, they hate the stuff.

 

I planted garlic in one of their toilets, so far it's not working, granules sound a bit stronger, might have to give that a go.

 

We have a cat lady a few doors down, think it's 9 cats, if they all shat in her garden it would be a full time job.

I'm thinking of building a catapult, but I quite like the neighbours cat, saying that it doesn't like me.

 

My grandad once put one in a bin full of water and closed the lid.

 

As we've got a 4 year old daughter I thought it might be nice to get a kitten.
We've now had him about 3 months, got him from a local rescue centre so he was already litter trained, had his injections and ***** nipped up.
We had a few issue with him scratching my little girl for the first couple of weeks but whenever he did it we would spray him with water. He soon gave up scratching as he's not a fan of water... lol....
House doesn't smell at all, we just make sure we clean his **** out of the litter tray straight away. Scoop it out with a poopa scoopa, bag it and put it straight into the wheelie bin. Then a quick spray with air freshener and it's all good.
The only problem at the minute is he's taken a liking to scratching our brand new stair carpet. The water sprayer isn't helping and he ignores the three scratching posts he's got.
Any tips would be gratefully received.

 

I think you can buy spray deterrents to put on problem areas.
