yup, but have a look at the STI on your seats, its red...and the hatch badge, its red....they swapped and changed, and the hawkeye badge is definitely red, so say Subaru dealer, so say my designer eyes, and so say third party part sellers
Ha I dont know, I might order the 'Red' one from the dealership just to see or even the genuine one from scoobyparts. I think your pink one is just discolouration (oo-er)

'Red' can't fade to 'pink'.
Like any colour it can only get faded, so it would go from 'bright red' to 'dull red'.
To change colour completely needs addition of another colour, and daylight doesn't bring white to merge with red to form pink.

Being a designer, and a lighting one at that, colour can change, and red can definitely fade, or rather change, to pink. Granted it wont be a shiny out of the factory pink, but it will be a faded red/pink.
A good example is the VW red 1990era, that faded to pink..I know I owed one...believed to be because of the iron oxide in the paint mix although thats just what I was told.
and daylight does bring white into the mix. Thats the whole concept of daylight, it that its white light. To achieve this light artificially, gels are used, the daylight one being Lee201, its blue, but put it front of something orange, the light becomes white to mimic daylight.
However, I went to see a Hawk at a local dealership today as a perspective buyer just to have a nose, and it did indeed have a RED and black badge, and it was a matt finish like suggested. Cheers for the discussion and advice y'all.

Hahah just to complicate matters.
I just bought a new one, its more red than pink to me.
Its going to interesting to see what colour new fog light stickers come out now!
The purpose of the excercise is that red and pink should never be used together (no idea how the designers at Subaru got away with red inlets and pink stickers), I am fitting some red engine bay parts and hella supertones and needed 'more' red badges to match hence the interest in hawkeye ones

I agree, it does look daft with different shades of things.
I can't understand why in this day and age RGB and Hex codes aren't used in order to get a perfect match.
Good luck with your matching anyway
