I don't mind paying the 490 per year tax ( i do really ) Luckily I insure my car for £500 per year and only 2 years no claims, and I can drive any other vehicle insured or not on my policy. I know a lot of people my age, 28, paying around 2k+ to insure a hawk sti, what's everyone else paying and how old are you etc...

When I had my classic Scoob last year I had the SL55 (mods declared), the Scoob (mods declared) and a Volvo V40 on a mutlicar policy for £690 ... mind you I am 48 with full no claims

That's a good point.

My 'total cost' (Ins + VED) is £636 + £280.
I guess there's a lot who are less than £916/yr.

(I'm annoyed with the insurance - got caught in the 'no policy for 2 years' trap and lost my 25+ years of NCDs. Not the fault of my current insurer/broker though).
