Using water and/or meth injection on an engine that already runs brilliantly and is optimally tuned, and then tuning for it with safeguards and measuring the benefits in terms of EGT, knock resistance, torque and smoothness is an intelligent pursuit. This isn't coming across in your approach unless I am misunderstanding?

Perhaps you mistake my comments as dislike for DIY tuning, water injection, piggybacks in all situations, but nothing could be further from the truth. Poorly executed or chosen mods without fixing the underlying basics or using the best readily accessible tools which are free and extensively discussed over many forums for years is another matter. Do I misunderstand?

With the experience you state, it will be easy for you to do a datalog of the OEM ECU, posting that with and without water would be interesting.
As said previously I tuned my car with no water injection. The water injection is no "bandage" or "bodge" it is merely there as a safeguard for when acts are high, fuel quality is an issue (wouldn't be the first time I've put "v power" in and it's not what it says on the tin) I had the WI kit lying around so why not use it? For example when I'm queung to drag race and my interheater has got warm through heat soak, then the WI acts as both a knock deterrent and an intercooler until I get going and my intercooler becomes effective. Is this such a daft thing? I mean I could easily take it off for my commute to work in this lovely cold time of year.
Don't know where you get your information about my WI being used to stop the wastegate duty and dropping boost, that's not the case? As I said several times it was put on AFTER te car was tuned.
The simple fact is that my car runs very well, drives very smoothly and efficiently off boost, boosts well, makes good power throughout the rev and load range in boost, doesn't "come and go" like some cars do as you feel them advancing and retarding timing. If you drove it you wouldnt see any problems at all with my set up.

Well that's not true, is nearly 13:1 afr just comming onto boost at 2800rpm, .7 bar. Need to tune this out on the way home from work. Drops to 12.5's above atmo and just nears 13:1 at .7 bar then goes back to a nice 12:1 until the boost Ramps up above 1.2 bar where it's well into the 11's.

I've never experienced bad fuel, but a lot of people talk about it on internet forums, usually it is bad tuning or a fault. When the car is tuned properly it should have a margin for error and contingencies for handling any variation.

I thought you said your wastegate duty had been dropping to zero? You have an Ecutek map on the car, now the mods have changed and there is a piggyback?

I'm not sure what your thread is for, but if you wanted help then a full spec list and a datalog of the OEM ECU would help.

If it is a showcase for your piggyback and you don't want help (I won't bore you with my credentials as most on here know them) then I'll step out here.

I won't even mention the fact I've just rebuilt my engine for £110 including a new clutch then. Re using head gaskets and all sorts, obviously people on here have far to much money or little skill/imagination. In fact it was less than £50 to rebuild my knocking bottom end as I sold a lot of bits off of the donor engine.

I suppose it's the aems fault the big end bearings wore out after 100k miles too. Nothing to do with the fact the car had been cunted about by the previous owner with no oil and little servicing

Not enough money and plenty of imagination and a little bit of skill, here.
