Lovely layout mate.
I had such great plans for my loft

It all had to go when my wife became ill and we moved house. The new house has a converted loft which the eldest daughter has laid claim too so if I can get back into the rail scene (I have a 1yr old too so not huge amounts of time on my hands!) I would like a nice little end to end TMD or something similar.

I would love to have the room to do a loft size layout like you started. But like you I am pushed for space. So perhaps, as you suggest, do something small like mine. Find a corner you can tuck it away in, even box it in, so it acts as a shelf or something along those lines.

My mate was appalled that iI published the lot on there, but I'm not, I've enjoyed it and so have a few others, judging by the views.
You should join Western Thunder, not just about the Western(s), but some talented modellers too, some who have got sick of the infighting that occasionally troubles RMWeb, and the over-moderation that does too.
I started a few threads on RMWeb, even one build that went nowhere, but haven't done much on WT, too much in awe of the talents on show. Worth a look.
And if you like blue diesels, pop into Brian Daniels' site, or here: http://www.7mmlocomotives.co.uk/gallery2/main.php
click on a kit for a really decent build...but beware....7mm scale is calling YOU!

Not everything is about money. and I think you did the right thing, as many have really enjoyed that thread one of the best on there.
Funnily enough I was thinking about perhaps undertaking 7mm today. But I have limited room. It would have to be a small diarama.

The 37 needs a touch more workThe 33 is now finished. Warning flashes on, Spills on the fuel tank and grease on the buffers if you look closely
I have allways considered FP, but I just have not got the room
If you ever do let me know, as I have good reference material sat here on FP.

I have to say there are some proper artists on YT when it comes to weathering their locos.

As kids living in London at the start of the 80's we had the run of all the London termini and all sheds/TMD's were easily visited, the staff always friendly, enthusiatic and inviting, often getting cab rides. Even the door to Startford works was left unlocked at the weekends, we'd be in the pit at FP all over OC, SF, WN, CW etc etc good times. But we'd be jealous of the guys in the north who had all the freight/coal movements 20's 56's 58's, you'd rarely see a 20 darn sarf and if you were lucky you'd get a pair of 56's at CW. So the odd trip up north to Tinsley, Toton, Barrow Hill, Knottingley, Crewe, Glasgow/Edinburgh were our only chances to see the more obscure stuff.
So as a southerner I'm really enjoying your posts
H&S would sh*t themselves these days

And yes those were the days. H&S ...didn´t really exist. Terrorist paranoia didn´t exist or CCTV and you just used to wander about and sit in the cabs of BRITISH built locos
Hope you are enjoying France Jeff. I have have some good times there doing WW2 research/holidays ect.
