(Big big beer book fine for that one) I have hundreds of pictures and I did get to play with them, pretty much every day for the 5 or so years I was in an Apache squadron (used to be 9AAC out of Dishforth, North Yorks, but they moved south to Wattisham, 3AAC/4AAC sometime in 2007 just after I had left)

In the early days back in 2006, we only done 4 month tours. Fortunately, I only did the one and left to do exactly the same job in the oil and gas sector as it's much more rewarding financially.

I do miss military life from time to time, the Apaches, the guys, the excitement etc but both wars have been a mistake in my honest opinion. Okay, Bin Laden and Hussein are dead and their regimes are weakened but we have lost too many lives and not really achieved a lot. Give it a few years and Afghanistan will be back under Taliban control. We should have pulled out years ago, but thankfully not long left and our boys will be home for good.

Anyway, the thread has gone off on a tangent, over and out.

Shaid, nice structured post fella, most certainly respectful of your views
So what the **** did you do for 4 months? REME spanner chucker, Cabbage mechanic, just passing through?

I have photos in fast jets, freighters and various gucci vehicles but I don't profess to drive them or own them, or try to let on I do.

Guess what I do?

We are off topic but it's still about integrity.

Devil's advocate here, but how did the court show that the shot fired was the actual cause of death, considering he was full of 30mm cannon holes anyway? As far as I'm aware, the body was not given a post mortem.

The doc stated the hands and limbs relaxing after the shot showed it was the fatal shot.

With a 9mm bullet in the possum's chest at close range, I'm guessing not much.

IMO the pics Leo has posted are impressive. About him being in the question of "to be or not to be" is same as when people post their holiday pics here. Only a few good looking ones like SiPie and Matt post their holiday pictures near the ships etc. Rest of us are just so ugly that we daren't scare anyone here with our pictures.

I don't believe that any of you have been anywhere, or you do anything that you boast about- unless you have your own picture with what you're bragging about. Now how we establish that it is definitely 'you' in the picture would still remain a question hanging in the air, or it could be even 10 years old picture (when you were younger) for what we know. However, you in the picture is closer to reliability than none of you in it.

On topic, that soldier in question got what he deserved, end of.

The order not to take any prisoners in the first 24 hours of D-Day was obviously illegal, but necessary, I suppose. The military can pick and choose, so it would seem, unlike this guy!

His actions are understandable, but still illegal.
