It is a very long drawn out thread with hardly any details lol

You have said its still for sale so surely there has to be a price in this thread as per the rules.

Apologies if I jumped the gun. Was it difficult the while process? I looked into this years ago as they looked minters but cost a few quid more. I kind of regret not doing it really and then the price of yen (if that's the correct currency?") went through the roof and never thought about it afterwards.

No problem, only difficult part is waiting for a clean one to turn up, I was lucky because I could get inspections done before buying this took me 2 months to find.
It's more of a hobby really I've just always wanted to import Jap classics

Are they not graded at auction? Or is it a little bit more difficult than having a piece of paper that say grade 4/5 etc?

Grades don't really show true reflection as they sometimes you can get a grade 2/3 that will be better than a 5.
That's why I didn't want to put a price on this until I physically see the car and how it runs fingers crossed its as good as inspection report said.

I've bought one in the past which was described as good and no problems, turns up and there was no water in it, that was an mr2 turbo, another with no oil, then there was one which was bought as a gamble, said unknown about engine as it had got damp, picture showed it idling, turns up and it was perfect. There is always a bit of a gamble really that something isn't quite right although you do find the Japanese are ok if things are really not right.

Ah ok. What are they like in relation to the same conditioned ones over here? Comparable? I guess it's nice knowing you will be the first uk owner.

Usually much better in that they tend to be less rusty although there is still some shockers, you still get the same dodgy crash damaged stuff, don't think there is any advantage to being first uk owner really, it's not like it's a new car and you're the first owner

I'd get it remapped for UK fuel ASAP before you break it.

Oh and when it starts going sideways DON'T lift off the gas.

Im not interested in buying the car but am interested in knowing more about importing it.
How difficult it was, where you sourced it from and ofcourse what it owes you landed.
PM me if you like chap.

Looks smart that, nice colour :-) May just be the pics but looks like a good polish wouldn't go a miss. Guess you win whether you sell it or not!
