Who says I won't? I said I might get a new iMac first. My current iMac is from early 2006, it's still a fantastic machine, way better than a new PC in many ways, people on here said I was nuts paying £1000 for it back then, since that time they've most likely had 3 ****ty PC's at a much greater cost. You PC using Fandroids just don't look at the big picture.
You crack on being suckered into buying new hardware because of a software feature and a bigger processor that no app can take advantage of, it's your money.

It wasn't for a few years did I start to appreciate that.

I must disagree with than JC,I've previously Macbook Pro and I've sold the Macbook Pro just due I've been unable to use to full potential Logic Pro and mainly I've been unable to use Pro Graphic SW
In Logic Pro I've been unable to use more VST/AU plugins at once, which I've hate it mostly and due this I've sold the Macbook Pro
For using full potential of the Logic Pro you simply need Mac Pro without the questions
I've compared performance of the Cubase 5 which is available like on OSX or Windows,my ex Macbook Pro with 20 VST/AU plugins its has been very slow and used almost 98% of the CPU,on Windows based PC same VST 20 plugins and same track I've in task manager only 30%,yes it used more RAM,but that's it
In some apps/SW Macbook is better choice, but as above I've pointed out,in pro audio SW you are need simply Mac Pro which cost more than two or three PC with highest spec
Better CPU in some apps which using multithreading will help you(in CPU Graphic rendering SW like is Cinema4D or Poser Pro etc),in some apps is pointless to have best CPU
As I said many times, depends on for what PC is used, for me Macbook is not the best option,Mac pro for my needs should be better choice, but still I would need good GPU and I can't justify price for Mac Pro,when PC with similar spec will cost lot less and will perform better in some apps like Mac pro
That's my view on this

I should mention that I also have a Macbook that cost £2500 late in 2010. It too is still a fantastic machine lacking nothing.

The Samsung models look like cheap toys dressed in plastic so I have no interest in them which leaves the HTC one. The only issue with these is the size which is too big in my opinion.

This is something I am thinking about. I have an iPhone 4S but that has gone faulty and is less than 2 years old. Apples lack of 2 year warranty combined with its fault makes me think that Apple aren't building them to last. If this is the case I need to look elsewhere.

I had my 4s for 2 yrs and never had any problems with it what so ever and it was dropped or bashed on a daily basis and was constantly in my hand being used for browsing or watching midget ****!
The iPhone is certainly built to last that's why I've just upgraded to a 5c and the missus a 5s

The iPhone is built to last or your 4s lasted 2 years?
If Apple didn't have any concerns that they would last to the second year of use then why not issue them with 2 year warranties anyway? After all it would be an additional selling point and show people that they are willing to place confidence in their own products.
Mine hasn't lasted and the fault is well documented as a wide spread issue. My father in laws home button broke down and my wife's doesn't always respond to commands when asked. I now have to decide whether to spend £550 on another one... you understand my hesitation?

My daughter has traded in her 5. She is sick of the battery dying when it drops below 10 Dec C. Her mini ipad has just cracked it's screen without being dropped or squashed for the second time. She has just literally wasted hundreds on it. Once she gets her money for trade in, she will have enough for a deposit on a Note 3 She has found out its easy to transfer her Itunes To Google and put it on her new Note 3

I post the so called crap because I have family and friends who suffer problems and failures with apple. I like to pull Jack's chain as he bangs on how wonderful apple is, the reality outside Jacks little sphere is that apple have many issues with their products.
Don't get me wrong I know Android and manufacturing is far from perfect but is more than a match for any mobile platform. Oh and I like to have a little fun, it only a forum after all.

I have to say he is so completely over the top as to actually discredit Apple to be fair.
Im on the fence with them. I would actually really like Apple products if they were built well, but in my experience I have had more Apple products go wrong within 2 years than not, which is appalling. I know that they offer a very good exchange service for faulty iphones. To get a brand new phone after the warranty for £140 is actually not too bad and offers some reassurance which is the only reason my interest in them is maintained.

The one mini is near as dammit the same physical size as the one. Although as has been said already, the fact it's quite thin and had a curved back means it doesn't actually feel that big in your pocket.
The specs of the two phones are considerably different too. Iirc the key differences are: screen resolution, processor, NFC and internal memory. Tbh those differences aside the one mini is still a very good phone.
