A few more bits and pieces have arrived namely some LED replacement bulbs for the front side lights, reverse lights and the number plate lamps.
Plus the replacement speakers, speaker adaptor rings and door sound insulation turned up today as well, perhaps not in keeping with the weight saving philosophy of the model but I've lost enough weight recently to more than offset the slight weight increase.

OK it's not going to win any awards for the sound quality but the increased in quality over the factory items will make it a worthwhile modification.

I've decided to go for a set of either Rally Armor or Rally Tech mud flaps, the only trouble being I can't decide on which colour to go for:
Black flaps with white or pink logos
Blue flaps with white logos
Red flaps with white logos
I know you might think that the red might not suit the WR blue but I really like the red especially in the Rally Armor flaps, the pics I've found do look quite good.

I like the contrast between the WR blue bodywork and red flaps, I'll have to think on this a little longer.

Well today I haven't been able to get up to the car but Ryan has carried on and installed the sound deadening in the doors, and the door speakers.
Bit of a surprise was found when the front door cards were removed, in as much as a set of Pioneer speakers had previously been fitted. This I found a real surprise as the sound from them was so poor, that's all I can think is that the cones must have taken some serious abuse as the sound is so poor from them.

And so the Silent Coat sound deadening was applied, mainly to the outer skin with some coverage on the inner skin. The main aim is to improve the quality of the sound given out, not to win any awards and certainly not to cover everything in sight with sound deadening.

In terms of the mechanical work left it's just really the SuperPro steering rack bushes, SuperPro anti roll bar bushes front and rear, Walbro 255lph fuel pump and the Prodrive sports cat with a deresonated centre section left to do.
The new front and rear brake discs, pads and hoses will be done after the bodywork has been completed.
And I have emailed Bob Rawle to enquire about booking a mapping session as well.

Sound quality IME very much depends on whether you apply Dynamat or not. Maybe even more important than speaker brand. In my tin can MX-5 Dynamat made a huge difference in terms of bass and mid frequency

I don't thing you will go far wrong with Bob
If it was mine I would do black flaps with red lettering.... Ok I've done that on mine I know
the flaps remain as invisible as possible then.
Door speakers is on my list of jobs too

It was seeing how good yours looked Dave that initially got me interested in them, and Simon also has a set on his car as well.
I know you pay for the quality, it's the customs duty and VAT I am not looking forward to. A set of the black flaps in urethane with red logo's came out at just a few pence under £100 so I hope I don't end up walking like John Wayne after the HMRC have finished with me.

Thanks Glenn, as we both know Bob always does a good job.

With the possibility of a remap with Bob Rawle looming I thought I had better get the exhaust centre section sorted, so I ordered a deresonated centre section from Scorpion via one of their eBay sellers.

If anyone ever needs to source a centre section for all classic/newage JDM models or newage UK model then the below information would be useful:
Classic / JDM newage centre section length 1360mm
UK newage centre section length 1260mm
This is because the classic and newage JDM models use shorter downpipes than the newage UK models.
Also Ryan continued the slog today on the car, being on call hasn't allowed me much opportunity this week to get up there, but I was there in spirit whilst he did all the work.
Front Anti Roll Bar Bushes

Steering Rack Bushes

No pics of the rear anti roll bar bushes but not really much more to see that you cannot see on the pics of the front bushes anyway.
My eye has also now been caught by the new wave of DAB compatible, single and double din head units, I must resist the temptation...

I knew that reading other people's threads would lead me into spending money that I hadn't planned.
So I've just bought a KS3 knock analyser, not a definitive requirement but very useful to ensure that you don't grenade your engine.
They do help to give some paranoia but the positives easily outweigh the negatives.

Thanks Simon, I'm thinking of it going into the ashtray area or possibly even into the single DIN pocket.
I think I need to get my **** into gear about whether I'm going back to a double DIN head unit or staying with a single DIN system.

Why not use the sunvisor and run the cables through the hinge, under the headlining and then down the back of the A Pillar?
