400BHP on a top mount?
I'm running a single scroll of that turbo rated at 49 lbs per min and 480 bhp.
huge difference I know

For some reason a lot of the charts I've seen on the single scroll have been pushing supposedly 450 wheel horse power which is way beyond the 480 bhp rating.

Like the america we use HP, BHP ect but there is no official standard to this measurement. Because of this most other country's either use PS or KW.
You are very close it seems the SC46 is a twin scroll turbo rated at 47 lbs per min and a 470 bhp rating. spools about 500 rpms sooner

Now I'm getting really confused a lot of math is involved and I'm tired. I think I'll go to sleep and check back tomorrow sometime and see if I can wrap my stupid American brain around this.
I feel like I fell into a Time Warp or another universe or something. I'm sure I'll get it eventually once my car gets here and I take it to a local tuning shop and throw it on their dyno.

How does the turbo have that kind of restriction on it?
The other thing I don't get is that how can a turbo be rated for xxx number of horse power before adding into effect the fuel being used, the altitude, the amount of air flow through the intake (3";2.4";air box;cone filter;etc;etc), the compression ratio, so on and so forth til every last part on the car has been fully upgraded to the max.

Well it pretty much the same thing but as i said there is no real official standard. In the factory they will test the power on the end on the crank using a crank brake. They will up the revs in say 500rmp increments while applying a measured amount of resistance with the crank brake. This works out the BHP or Brake horse power.
On a dyno they will power the car in a selected gear up to the redline and measure the power, then let the car over run on the rollers and this will measure the transmission resistance. This figure then deducted from the first figure should give the approx FWHP. That's how i understand it anyway. If i'm wrong i'm sure we will both be educated shortly

I think they use PS in europe which is a similar number to bhp. 320ps = 316 bhp. Not sure if the dyno places use ps,bhp or kw. Maybe they can give you the graph in whatever unit you want?
