How rare are the sti 8 jdm motors, I mean am I gonna be looking for years ?
450 bhp would be more than enough I'm aiming for 400 ish anything above is a bonus ...

I'm gonna sell my current v5 engine as a long engine so I will need to find another set of v5 heads so are u able to tell me what I'm on the lookout for

Jdm block
V5 heads
Head gaskests
Turbo ... Twin scroll ??

Just take a deep breath and try and injest.

The ONLY thing you need is the short engine, which means use YOUR heads, inlet manifold and ecu.

BUT, I think your making a Classic (excuse the pun) mistake, what you want to do is go for around the 350bhp mark, it's soooooooo much cheaper and safer and tbh you'd only get your *** handed to you by someone like banny sti running 600+ everything else on the road is going nowhere from a well set up classic with 350bhp, and someone that knows how to drive it. and TBH a Type r with more than 350bhp is a bit of a hand full on the road in anything other than a straight line in the dry, that's why so many of them end up in a hedge or field.

Ditch is right my type r at 400 catches you out very quickly spec slight damp road. A well set up type r with a quick spool vf34 35 be great reliable rapid car. I'm greedy so I can't drop power now lol

Lol they catch you out with 280bhp never mind 400, mine was running VF34 on standard everything else, made 330, but I ran it at 300, with crap brakes and 16 wheels, loads of fun.

Lol type r such a different beast to any other Scoob. Mine on 18s with Prada spec 2s .I wanna drop to 17s, tho so have bit more tyre wall has nothing at mo 35 profile. Just wants to go sideways. The standard 4 pots were useless I'm running 356 mm 8 pots on front of mine they lock you quick with no abs

Sonic & ditch ... Having had a little while to think on things I'm thinking this whole sti 8 lump idea is gonna be getting moderately exspensive..i think ur right ! I may just have to aim at 380 and hope the engine holds it togther.

Im thinking of the following mods

Sc38 or 20g.. obviously I no the 38 is a great turbo but what will be the differences between the 2 turbos performance wise or is it just a no contest.
What do 550 Injectors max out at may need the 7's
Already have a hdi fmic ready to be fitted
Already have a rcm induction kit fitted

What are your thoughts ?? Cheers

Noisey - I got 401.8 but putting my new engine in next couple of weeks a jdm v9 engine with heavily ported and polished heads with super tech valves and springs, with cosworth hg and cosworth Kevlar belt and a Api baffled sump. Then map again with a splash of meth hmmm

The engine is at about 68,000.

So what.. best bet is £1200 on a new sc38
as they never come up second hand

Then injectors what do 550's max out at or am I looking at 7's

Then a big fat map

Get the billet version and it doesnt have to be Harveys or AFP . Contact John Aka Braveheart_sti on here... He built my Afp20g spools up @ 3,7k wth standart headers and up pipe.
