But WHY is diesel 5p per litre dearer in the UK? And cheaper by almost 20p per litre almost everywhere else?

Because there is more diesel vehicles so they are making sure the greater pays the tax.

Years ago they said diesel was cheaper as it was better to the environment now its just a money maker
