Sorry if I missed the point here but if your not interested in giving your car a blast why would you drive a subaru? There not that comfy the insides are all a bit plastic and ****e the only thing going for them is they are amazing fun to rag about! If you want to drive about like a sensible old man with a stuck up nose but a merc! I've had a few Scoobs and currently drive a 600bhp hatch and if someone wants to see what it can do at the lights... I will leave you in the dust!!! You lot sound like a bunch of miserable old men lol

I enjoy a blat off the line around these parts (rural Surrey) and I enjoy my private runway runs, where the conditions allow. I don't crash, I don't make others crash and I don't go killing babies. I have a clean license.
If other people cannot use their mirrors and are unaware of what is around them and how to drive properly, not sure how that is my problem
The absolute best is when I get "BECAUSE RACE CAR" types next to me on the lights and they have no idea what a RS6 is, let alone running a load more power than stock, as if the huge modded brakes and wheels don't give them an idea.... Bye bye HAIL CLARKSON!

And I don't mean boy racer stuff, I mean when you're delayed, have something urgent etc ?
I'm not talking about showing off.

I'm happy to poodle along at 40 in a stream of traffic, and to have kids overtake me in their 15-yr-old Fiestas.
I once had a fiesta with 5 lads in it, at 2am, who saw me waiting to pull onto the dual carriageway they were on. The driver went past the junction, floored it and went through the next roundabout at around 40 - with me 150 yards behind him. There was no way I was pushing him.
I've no doubt you've had tragedies in your part of the world. Multiple deaths of young people who were crammed 5, 6 or even SEVEN in a small hatch that the driver lost control of.
(In the example above I simply took it out on a straight, and was happy to see that at the next roundabout they came around sensibly).
I'm glad I stimulated a bit of debate. It's unfortunate that I don't seem to have made it clear that I was not intent on racing or showboating.
btw yesterday coming home from Japfest I had a middle-aged guy in a Zafira about 5 yards behind me at 75 on the M4 !
I think I'll get a bumper sticker - "Go on, overtake me - everyone else wants to".

It was a film starring Roy Scheider that spawned a series called Airwolf if I'm correct.
'Blue Thunder' came about as a bit of banter by the lads in my local.
I drove it there to show them and one said 'I thought it was thunder' and I replied 'no, but it's lightning fast'.
We then had a few 'chopper' jokes.

On the way to Japfest i came across a few Mazda 3's and 6's (MPS flavour). After the road works came to an end and the national speed limit circle made an appearance i thought right now i'm going to smoke em only for..... erm... well they were gone.
A quick browse of the MPS forum taught me one of them was 370bhp.
Subaru/Mitsu are not the only quick cars out there.

On the way home from work yesterday going through several sets of lights a light blue BM was trying to get in my boot. Tail gating is my pet hate, so when the lights were green I give it a boot full leaving it 100yrds behind and thinking that was it. But no, 10 seconds later it's back up my chuff. I just let him pass, thinking I'd see him in a minute upside down and on fire.

10 seconds to catch up.
Why - did you brake for him?
Seriously though, the worrying thing is not him upside down and on fire but the car he's hit head on because he thought "I've just dun a Subru, I can pass these free carz and get in before that Astra carrying a famly of five'.

quite a few times i have had it the other way round since leaving scoobyville......
since having my renault sport i was being goaded from behind by a u.k wagon
a while ago.....by the time his boost came on i was at the other end of the duel carraigeway.
couple of weeks ago some chavs raced up behind me in a silver classic so close
i thought they were sat in my back seats...
they kept dropping back only to let me know how loud their adv was.
might have bothered but car was cold and had mrs in the car and its a big no no lol.

I must admit I got more attention in my old fiesta st.... But it was bright white with blue stripes looked like a tesco value bag lol, surprised a few tho was 200bhp I quite miss it at times, I think nobody see me in the impreza because its a wagon, I don't mind the odd quick blast when the times right, was also disappointed that a p1 I came across the other day wasn't interested was a good road and really quiet, just expected him to blast past me in my wrx!

There is a guy my way who does this in his WR1. I like a good blast as much as the next guy, but surely this WR1 owner must at some stage get bored of (a) always being on the rev limiter, and (b) tail gating every car in Romford. I'm yet to see him driving at anything less than full pelt.

I like the odd traffic light derby, especially when it's a superior STI boy and I out spool them in my lowly WRX Wagon.
Used to get a lot more hassle in my STI Type r, which I would just ignore mostly .
I'm just not into racing on the public roads as there are way too many variables, I just like to get my kicks in my own time space continuum and not get involved with ejits on the road or track, seen some people do some pretty silly **** when the red mist descends over the years, which every now and then ends badly, and I don't want to be a part of that for mine and my cars sake.
