Expenses for thatcher
Jon; you offer no answer then call me loathsome. I think you might find its you that's more like a politician. So please suggest a British car. There are very few left.
Jaguar XF Sportbrake
Jaguar is owned by Tata, but their HQ is still based in Coventry and their cars are still designed and built in factories in Britain employing British people.
I would for example consider Honda cars from Swindon as British built supporting British employees and British manufacturing, same goes for Ford, Vauxhall and Nissan factories, whose cars are exported from this country.
So you want to support Britain and stop imports, then start by selling your German BMW and buy a British built car! You have no excuses now!

None do a quick RWD estate or well specced camper (our other car is a VW California)! And our last car, a Defender 110 was fun but shockingly unreliable despite being fairly new.
Oh and I also had a British Morris Marina as a first car; my experience of Brit cars isn't great...!
I like the Jags but I'm not 50 yet... ;-)

Best for the country?
Stop benefits to all but yhe disabled, cut pensions (we haven't been able to afford then since the 30s), plough money into infrastructure projects and the promotion of engineering and manufacturing jobs, clamp down on tax dodging by the rich, cut foreign aid, stop importing endless tonnes of crap, support farming, encourage apprenticeships over degrees, only allow immigration to skilled workers, stop propping up the failing house building industry but encourage civil engineering projects, slice the NHS in half.
That should do it.

When your time comes will you refuse the state pension?
I don't know why you would have a problem with what was written unless English is not your first language.
You should be a Limbo dancer if you aren't already.

Typical of those who try to impress us all by using so called "clever" words when they are just not necessary, Were you trying to make murdering pensioners sound less vicious or what? Why did you not have the guts to say that you think all pensioners should be killed? Does not sound any better the way you said it!

Still got a few years to go before I will be eligible for the State Pension which I most certainly will be taking just as MPs claim their expenses..........which brings us back on topic.
Les, my comment about euthanizing pensioners was meant to be tongue in cheek. Although I do not receive the State Pension, I took early retirement so I am in fact a pensioner and still paying tax btw. Surprised you didn't take Matteeboy to task after what he posted (#20) which I don't think was tongue in cheek.

I find that quite revealing...
You are either stalking me, want a VW camper or both. Strange behaviour.

As far as pensions are concerned, I am in the same position as you with regard to an occupational pension. I have no compunction about taking a pension that I paid towards anyway. Yes we all get taxed on any pension of course!
Do you think it might be possible that MP's make a significant profit out of their expenses?
Les
[QUOTE=Leslie;11059497] It did not sound "tongue in cheek" and use of the word you mentioned sounded like a mercy killing for an ill animal.
If you say so.

Are you sure about that?

Are you referring to a comment I made or is this your attempt at tongue in cheek?

Can we just start early with you?
