Combined Hants/Dorset meet, June.
Deano,
I have the fugly, with a few toys added
about 12k's worth
Got a full decat and SS all the way through, but my BB was made custom made for extra ROARRRR... altho nowhere near as loud as Knowlesys, his is just incredible, louder than anything I ever heard.
Shane.

Doesn't look like we're going to make the next meet in the Scooby, so we'll meet you all there...
Actually - could do with some of your technical blokies advice:
Chris just rang me after calling the body shop who said they'd have our car ready for tomorrow (well, acutally it was last friday, then tomorrow, now it turns out it's next friday)...anyway, they said it was going to the Subaru dealer who said they could fix it appart from "a cover for the back/behind the engine" which they didn't have "but don't worry because it runs fine without it".
Now, Chris isn't a pushy guy therefore didn't ask anymore questions...but I'm not happy to accept this - does anyone know what this is? Can my car fun fine without it? Surely it would be there for a purpose? (not just to look pretty?!) i.e. is it a cover for one of the belts and could therefore help prevent massive engine damage if the belt broke? Or could it be the turbo heat sheild - in which case do I get them to order another? Would you accept this or push it through?
Sorry to for the long e-mail but I'm gutted. It's my wedding in 9 days time and I did really want the car there (we've even got a model silver Scoob on the cake) I'd like as much info as possible to push this (and it's a faaar too stupid question to post in technical forums!)...although I will if no-one knows!
Thanks
Jen (who's now going for a short walk to calm down..)

Sorry to hear the car wont be ready Jen.
Perhaps they just mean the engine under-tray ?? As far as I know this is only attached by about 6 fixings so I would take the car when they say, and take it back in when they have stock. In fact, I would insist on this regardless of what component it is. Cant they get the part within the week from another dealer, after all it is a UK car.
Excellent customer service as usual then.

Thanks Stevie - just rang up and did my "annoyingly-persistant-woman" bit....talked to a guy who seemed to know one end of a scoob from the other (although sometime's it's hard to tell!
) turns out it was part of the cam-belt cover they need, which they've ordered already (luckly for them!!
) and should be in next wednesday ...just have to hope it turns up! Going along tonight to have a look as apparently apart from that it's all ready to go...be interested to see what tyre combination they've come up with
...you never know, could be another oppportunity for me to excercise "annoyingly-persistant-woman" - twice in one day

...still, looking forward to the 10th, I'll have to start taking the corsa to all the meets after we get scoob back as well, I think he's getting used to going...anyway...going a bit mad now, didn't know Yorkies effected me in that way

Jen,
if it's for 'the back of the engine' it's not gonna be a nelt cover, the only thing I can think of thats at the bac is the heat sheild on the downpipe/turbo, what sort of damage did the car incur, as it would take an awful lot to bend that considering where it is.

Ron,
I must admit they had me confused with the "back of the car" thing, 'specially as this was the damage:

...not exactly condusive to damage at the back of the engine!
However, that was what the receptionist guy told Chris - so that's why I rang up and spoke to the guy who was actually working on the car - he told me it was a section of the cam belt cover which would make more sense as there was damage to that section of the car (the cam belt came off) so mystery solved and lesson learnt: never ask the receptionist questions about your car!

So basically, we have to wait 'till next wednesday for the part to come in, unless of course I can find a cam belt cover part before that!! Oh, and having seen the car yesterday (minus back bumper. front bumper, a front wing, bonnet and two wheels) I think they were stretching the truth when they used the phrase "it's all ready appart from the engine work"...however, lots of people saw me looking at the car - so hopefully they got the message
I'll be back there tongiht to see how it's going...pushy? me? Never

That explains it then Jen, I would have been seriously worried if it had been an exhaust sheild, I guess you'll be there monday then, just minus the scoob?
