Ah, so it's OK for you to laugh at someone being labelled a c*nt but NOT for us to mock you, then?

A quick search on here will turn up loads of info on dumpvalves.

I'm not gonna bother, because you've already shown you won't listen:rollyes:

You lot are a strange bunch,

I fitted a forge VTA valve and had it on the RR with no mods/mapping apart from said item and everything was 100% fine, Yes the noise is a tad marmite but it never made any change to the bug.
DISCLAIMER, only fitted as we thought oe was leaking boost

TBH I like the sound of a dump valve
I wouldnt care what anybody else thinks about dump valves if you like them then go for it

tubbs aint that bad if you give him a PM he can sort you out with some subaru rally stickers for covering your car to give it the rally/monster energy look to it

This thread is going just as I expected.

Can we not have a sticky topic about this at the top of the forum? I can provide a suitable title for it if we need one

A newby

Yes

Dump valves

Yes

Go for one ,they make your Subaru sound the Buisness ,best mod you Can ever get apart from fake roof vents and stickers ,but PM tommy As he is favourite supplier for these stylish items

Ebays a good place to start for your search for a dump valve
I hear some of the new ones can even chatter like pigeons if you rev them up in public car parks

They do draw the crowds so be used to plenty attentions by teenagers ,base ball fans and treckies

They are just so cool And gave better fuel economy according to my cousins younger boy (aged 11)
Also take it in a rolling road and you will get a strong printout and lots of deaf people too

Do newby

You will get RESPECT on here

Ppppsssssttttt
So cool

Fit it, enjoy it, ignore the "haters" and change it back when/if you get bored with the noise or notice any "issues" - your car, your life ... do what you want

Makes me laugh how certain people on here criticise dump valves as being "chav/trev/boy racer/etc." and yet we're all driving around in what is arguably the most "look at me" affordable production car on the road with a rear spoiler that even Halfords would be proud of .... "pot/kettle" springs to mind.

LOL at all these people coming on and saying stuff like, "i'll fit one if I want because I like them, "or "Do it, it's your car" etc etc.

Fair enough if the article in question was even neutral, let alone giving you any more power.

But it's NOT, it's quite clearly negative in it's effect on the car...... So WHY????

I can hear mine: it's a Forge recirculating one, but because I have no MAF and a huge induction kit, it's audible.

And it doesn't destroy my fuelling.

It's his car and his money.

Personally I think that you're all muppets for still living in the UK and am pretty certain that the winter salt on the roads, the pot-holes, sleeping policemen, etc. etc. do loads of damage to your cars - none of which I have over here but I don't spend my time telling you all not to drive anywhere as it "might" damage your car.

I've always "customised" my cars and will continue to do so and really couldn't give toss what anyone else says and if I blow up my engine due to something I've done then guess what I'll go buy another one as it's really not the end of the world is it?

Live and let live it's just a car FFS.

^ This man talks sense!

And the important bit you said Alcazar was "I have no maf" ..... when running mafless you can pretty much bung the air where you want!

Badger, just so you know (might already so apologies) the maf sensor is the sensor thats the first thing in the pipework after the air filter. maf = mass air flow. It measures the amount of air thats entered the system and ultimately this defines how much fuel its going to give it. With a recirc valve, it dumps air back into the pipe between the maf sensor and the turbo so the air in the system is still "in the system and therefore at some point will be going through the engine and burning with the fuel which the maf sensor has allowed for. But what it has done is stop the turbos momentum from overpressurising the pipework between the turbo and throttle body and forcing air back through the turbo (acceptable on strong turbos and makes that squirrel noise that chavs also like!).... with certain turbos this can fubar them royally very quickly, others are apparently strong enough to take it, but either way it'll die prematurely at some point.

So, with an induction kit and a decent recirc (forge) you can get a much louder dump than standard if thats what you want, yet it will still be recirculating and causing no potential fuelling issues.

As for the comments from some people that theyve fitted them and had no problems ..... fair play, happy days, gravy gravy gravy etc .... and it is a fact that some people have had no issues ..... however its also a fact that over time it can lead to idle issues and apparently bore wash.

Which could be acceptable IF it had any performance advantages to a recirc .... but it doesnt!

-sorry for picking on the noob, you wont be aware of this, but noobs turning up and asking for trev valves, wrc sticker kits and roof vents is a common occurance!

-ignore tubs, hes a c**t! haha

-and LVC ..... not gonna beat around the bush ..... but your a dick!

"and if I blow up my engine due to something I've done then guess what I'll go buy another one as it's really not the end of the world is it?"

But there is still a chance of it running fine loads of people on here running DV's without issues, and the amount i hear on the road with them too haha

Why, you don't think that driving your car on UK roads has a higher risk of causing damage to it than driving on better condition roads that aren't covered in corrosive substances?

Anyway, you don't want a dump valve, what you really want is a BOV.
