Is or is not marriage fundamentally a religeous act?

Yes it is, but one that now infers upon its participants certain legal rights also.

Are those same legal rights obtained within a Civil Partnership?

Yes they are.

What we are looking at here is the State sanctioning a religeous act.
Do they have that right? Morally and legally? And what precedent does that set?

Stereotypes are a wonderful thing.
When it suits you can use them to support your view and when it doesn't you can dismiss them as bigoted nonsense.

Marriage has zero to do with religion

In this thread I amongst others have presented plenty of arguments as to why gay marriage is a sensible progression in our society and also thanks to some off topic borderline anti-gay nonsense by the likes of you and your cohorts plenty of reasons why being anti-gay is wrong. I even asked a simple question as to why those of you who feel the need to call them names, insult them, etc. do so and why do you feel that way.... yet not one of you has answered any of that.

So don't talk to me about using something to suit my view until you are prepared to a) stop ignoring our arguments when it suits you e.g. I have already pointed out that according to SN polls the BNP would have seats in parliament so how can SN be a real world representation of the UK yet you chose to ignore that of course and b) answer my question straight up as to why you feel it necessary to insult gays and to be honest look on them as second class people or worse.

Oh and FFS learn to spell religious!

Bearing in mind the percentage of practising Christians is likely to be much higher in this employment by virtue of the work involved than most other jobs, there are likely to be a considerable number who will find this change unacceptable.
In their shoes I would refuse en-masse and file for either unfair or constructive dismissal if they are dismissed.
And we'll have yet another Court of Human Rights travesty.
Right, so what you're asking us to believe here is that there's a small army of discontented civil registry officers who weren't quite morally opposed enough to homosexuality for them to seek alternative employment when the T&Cs of their job were amended to include having to officiate at same-sex civil partnerships, but who are morally opposed enough to it that they'll baulk at the idea of officiating at same-sex marriages. And of course, we're supposed to just take your word on that, without a shred of actual fact, evidence or research to back it up.

Before I come back with a more detailed reply later when I have the time, will you at least concede that it's understandable why a rational and dispassionate observer might have a problem going along with your argument?

I was watching the box whilst typing that and it appears I have made a rare spelling mistake.
I didn't have to look far back for the following though..

Mine are typos, yours is a spelling error as you keep spelling it the same way you feckless dolt. And whatever I am it is certainly a heck of a lot cleverer than you.... not that that is saying much. My cat is brighter than you!

I see you still haven't answered my question and to think you are the one that goes on about people evading questions. Mind you when you're only answer is 'I just do cos they're not normal' what can you say really?

Another typo I expect, although I thought (going from other threads on poor grammar/spelling that you lap up as an excuse to put others down) that this was a mistake you always put down to low intellect.
That can't be the case here, as you are obviously very clever because you told me so and regularly tell others as well.

Quite frankly I find it downright disgusting if done publically. the whole gay touchy touchy feely feely thing in public should be illegal. it offends me and I am part of society.

Here's an example why and wtf is this about other than a big " look at me"
You don't see hetro pride marches with freaks like this
Would you like to walk your kids through this bunch of weirdos ?

Also all the bummer lovers explain this

My mrs son is gay and when he's with us or other family members he acts as straight as any bloke
Yet when he's with his bum chums he minces and acts like a big girl ( me and my
Mrs have witnessed it )
So he's doing it by choice not because he was born to act like a tw*t

There's a million and one other things he's done and some other freaks I know but I can't be bothered with em because it winds me up

I know a lot is said in jest about , " you're a closet gay "
Or " you fear this or that "

But comments like that are a feeble attempt to make people feel bad or wrong for disliking gays

And also when sex is brought into the equation it's brushed aside
" ah well there's more to a marriage / relationship than sex "

Yes correct there is but it's also a part of it and a fact of life , 99% of relationships will have a sex life , so there's no getting away from it
Bummers will bum & carpet lickers will lick

Now if society thinks that's normal there's summat going wrong already

According to some people on here it's perfectly normal, it's us straighties who are wrong because we struggle to see it as being normal when it's actually not.

[QUOTE=Torquemada;10982562]Define normal.[/

A man and a woman falling in love , getting married and having children is normal

Two men falling in love , getting married and the husband sticking his *** up his husbands bum , is not normal

Two women falling in love , getting married and then the wife sticking a piece of plastic up the wife's fanny , is not normal

Now you tell me the last two are normal ?

I'm not bothered what he does or where he is tbh
He's not my biological son ( thank god )
If he was I would diss own him

I've a mate at work who found out his son was gay and was devastated
He has very little to do with him now

As long as you know they are safe and alive , that'll do

And yes I do dislike gays that much

i agree

i was in a kids play area with my 2 kids, 2 butch women walked in with a kid. the kid ran off playing and they just stood there snogging and feeling each other up.

how many hetro couples act like this in the same situation?

and 'No' i'm not a gay hater, but, like it was said in a previous post, but misinterpreted, if 'everyone' turned gay or lesbian, the human race would die out.
