All sounds great, I have to agree with Ron old and new members, meh.

Makes no difference tbh, we all have the same interest. Sure most have experience of forums where it can get very nit-picky, but this is not corsa-c.com or saxperience.com we are above these sites I believe.

As far as I'm concerned we have no devide whatsoever between new and old members. We were all newbies once.

Exactly what i was thinking Scott

Was joined to a few Ford sites before becoming a scooby owner.

And the attitude was ... If you didn't own a cosworth, you were merely cat turd on the bottom of there shoes !

I read all the comments about " How it will never be as great as it was " or that this place has turned into some tumbleweed town of the old wild west

But before joining here , i was a member of RSTurbomania , They met once a year at the Ford Fair , and you were lucky to have got 10 post a week on the forum and that was it !! No monthly meets , No rolling road days , nothing !!

So to say this place is dead and it will never be the same

Think again !! There are worse clubs you could be joined to

It's not dead, it's just not what it was.
But who's to say it can't be all of that and better?
The club will be what we "the members" want it to be.
If we want it to be great, lets make it that way

Well i've never personally said it was dead mate

But i have stumbled across a few post in the past suggesting that it was thou

But hey ! When i joined SN , I thought WOW ! There was more life on here in the 1st week of joining SN than there ever was at rsturbomania in the 6 years i was with them.

But your 100% right Frayz, the success will be down to all members supporting the activities and meets that get posted up here in the future

Getting your names down as early as possible and supporting the member who has taken the time out of his or hers busy schedule to plan and organise a event for the ESOC, will give that member the confidence to plan more future and better events. Hopefully it will also encourage the other members that remain silent to putting there names down for events, to start getting there names down for future events

I know from experience that when you post a event /meet up , and you get little or no response from members putting there names down for attending , it can become a little dis-heartening, and makes you wonder why the hell am i bothering, if knowone else can be bothered.

So please give your full support to fellow ESOC members that host and organise a event

ESOC 2013 !! Lets see what the future brings

interest in subaru's should have no age barrier
some of the best tales i have heard in the past in the old skool ford days have come from the "older" generation of owners.
these guys know the cars inside out upside down
how else are we the newbies ever going to appreciate owning one if there is no where to turn to for advice and tales of times past
i am 38 years old but still feel like a teenager if i am honest and i am pretty sure the older members feel exactly the same when they get behind the wheel.....lol

I know what you mean, I think there is always a degree of snobery with cars or car forums, cars can say a lot about you as a person, how successful you are, size of your wallet or family etc etc.

Agreed this place is far from dead, now the radicalowners club, the last post was one week ago, that's pretty quiet the trouble with people saying this is dead is also going back to the days that if you were offline for an hour your recent thread would be on page 2 easily.

I'll still be around for advise as always, Would probably say I doubt I will get another scoob but never say never will keep an eye out for pub meet Danbury ain't that far so a bike ride over is possible

Okay chaps, thanks for the feedback and support in us getting this all up and running.

Is there anything else people would like to see in our forum?
Anything we as a club would like to be done different? (within reason of course)

All sounds great.

I think getting some stickys up for the regular meets is a good idea, when, where and times etc etc. Southend posers cruise or the saturday pub meet for example.

Yeah, I've already got a few good ideas for making a useable calendar of events and posts for our monthly gatherings.
I've a few friends who run forums so been looking at what they have included. Ie, form codes of conduct, event listings, meets, trackdays etc etc.

You have my vote Frayz, it's great to see the club pulling together and credit to all those who are spending the time to organise things for the club.

I only started coming to some of the meets last years and it's clear to see most want he Club to grow again. I will be supporting the club meets and as many events as I can possibly manage this year, as I know all other will do.

Lets not forget the fallen veterans of the Old Guard ESC

Even thou they maybe scoobieless , or succumbed to the fuel economy delights of the diesel

They still meet every 2nd Thursday of the month at the Halfway House A127

Still think we should do one final meet with all the old skool members. Be a good way to have a final send off from the original essex scooby crew. Regardless of what vehicle you own, lets try and get every one together so all us newbies get the pleasure of meeting every one

There won't ever be a final meet mate.

Every ESC/ESOC member old and new will always be welcome to every meet we have. I know some will be coming to the odd meet if they can.
