12mm at the rear mate, with extended studs - nothing at the front although 5mm would probably finish it off

No mate, Ryan did them during the respray a couple of years ago but the hub did need pulling to get them in. Not too bad a job though and the studs are about £40 for the 10

I'm hoping so - I need to give it a good run, it's a little lumpy on tickover after having sat for 6-months. I've clean 2 of the plugs including the one that keeps throwing the fault code and it was a touch dirty

I got to the bottom of the misfire - rather than just the misfire fault codes it threw a couple of EVAP system fault codes so I decided to refit the PCV and hey presto it now runs like a dream. I need to see whether or not I can remove it when I get the car remapped now

Oh, and this arrived today



Needs a little trimming to fit around the TSL exhaust so I'll be pretty much tied to keeping to which is no major issue as the exhaust is a goodun

Yes will needs little bit trimming around the exhaust,as you can see on our wagon,but still will looks good on yours

Needs a little tidying where I've trimmed it mate but it nearly finishes the rear off

Agree they will need trimming,depends on the backbox,but on our older HKS has been trimmed as yours and now with different exhaust think don't need so much

Had a productive day as I get ready for round two...

Modded my TGV deletes to make them look a bit better, but I just don't have the power tools to finish it off so luckily I know a man






And finished...



Also hacked away at my inlet with the angle grinder...



And together...



So the box of goodies ready to go to Ryan's for some painting...






Vent to be painted in the body colour, alternator cleaned and polised with pulley wheel to be fitted, inlet and breather pipes in wrinkle black with the rocker covers in wrinkle red

Did a little more smoothing today so all that is left now is the flange to mount the throttle cable bracket, the lugs for the header tank and the lugs underneath for the fuel rails so that'll do








I did manage to damage the bung that connects to the FPR and although I have a spare bung that could be screwed in I don't have a tap big enough in a 1.25mm pitch

You could say I'm gutted - I started speaking to Francis in ROM Performance about a Carberry ROM with the extras such as ALS and LC and he's advised me that the VF34 I have sat in the garage won't handle it - I need to change to a VF35

And all that after I spent yesterday fitting switches for the ALS, LC and twin maps - so I need some switch blanks for the centre consoles (x3) or someone to buy my VF34 and sell me a VF35, although I do want to keep the forge wastegate solenoid

Why's that Jon? I have a 34 on mine and having the same map done. Is it because the 34 isn't strong enough? Mate of mine had 375 out of his vf34 and is running the carberry rom

Apparently the roller bearing turbos won't stand up to the thrashing of either ALS or LC which does surprise me given that these are the more expensive turbos. I know some of the VFs are prone to trouble if used without a DV but I was under the impression that the VF34 and 35 were strong enough to cope. I might have to revisit the whole thing but Francis has said he wouldn't want to map a VF34 with the Carberry for me to then have the turbo lunch itself

Strange one that Jon, prob going to drop Andy Carr a message and see what his thoughts are on it because I know for defo he mapped the vf34 on the carberry rom with ALS and LC. Suppose it may depend on how mild the ALS can be set but wouldt want to chance fooking the turbo up for a few pops and bangs lol

I might do that mate or start a thread to see what the general view is. I don't want to undermine anyone's credibility and if the turbo is genuinely that weak I'll have to consider my options - however, if it's just someone being over cautious then I'm a risk taker by nature so I'll look at someone else to do the work

It certainly can be done Jon as I've seen it with my own eyes. Not sure what the long term effects it'll have on the vf34 running the ALS but surely if its just mapped mildly and not abused then shouldn't harm it that much. Ill list up once I get a reply mate but like you said ill take my chances on it aswell

I've dropped Andy Carr a PM so I'll see what he comes back with. The car is just a toy so it's not like I'm doing 10000 miles a year with the ALS on, it'll get switched on for shows and tunnel runs, the same with the LC, only used for the odd play and routinely driven in low boost mode until the sun comes out

Okay, I've been doing some research and been having some really productive discussions with Francis of Rom Performance and I'm certainly hedging towards a Carberry Map with ALS and LC. Before that though I've got a load of stuff to go off to Ryan (prodriverules) for painting. Following the discussions I'll also be completing a DIY parallel fuel rail mod and getting my headers and up-pipe ceramic coated.

With all of the changes I'm making I'll be looking for trailer to get the car to Francis as I'm just not sure about the drive with so many changes including moving the O2 sensor, TGV and Evap circuit delete, new turbo and injectors, FPR and fuel rail mod - I think I'll be lucky if it idles with that lot done and not even a base map
