I've ha my GTR for over 3 1/2years, longest time I've had a car and there hasn't been one day I've thought of selling up. For me this one is a keeper for life!

In ny opinion F430 looks dated, interiors feels dated. Gallardo anything short of an LP560 is all fart and no poo. 911 GT3 RS great car out on track, maybe least practical car for road that's been discussed. 911 Turbo fast, suitably stereotyped but if you look past that great GT car. GTR ballistic and unbelievable grip, more ***** than badge and practical.

Wish OP good luck with his decision because all these cars are very different! Maybe a Supercar club is a better idea?

458 or LP700

Best thing about the GTR is fact you can have 700bhp, potter through traffic in comfort, get the weekly shop in the boot and then tomorrow be out on track spitting four 3ft flames as you brake into the corner and then power slide out its a great Jekyll and Hyde car.

If you want to use your occasional car for occasional lunacy then GTR is probably for you, unless you're taking it to the limits then its probably not going to thrill you so maybe something more exotic with more drama without taking it to the limits is the way to go

The honest working class who are into cars can identify more with a working man's car like a Nissan. I'm far more likely to offend or incite jealousy with the middle classes with a supercar than I am to impress them. Most of the middle class who don't care about cars think I'm not doing so well since I can no longer afford a BMW and think it is a 350Z, and that sits just perfectly with me.

Could this be because you have pride in your profession which satisfies any natural desire for approval without the need of obtaining it through materialistic possessions such as cars?

I know a few people whose jobs range from running an estate agents to owning a claims company. Another is lives off his parents hard work. They all have supercars and for them the flashier the better.

One man I know is an aeronautical engineer at the top of his game. He flies all around the world training and assessing global engineering firms before they are certified. I know he is very proud of what he does and couldnt care less about what people think of his car. He drives a Zafira because "it does the job".

Yes. I like cars, but they don't have to be expensive or flashy to interest me. I receive more than enough attention through my work and personal life, and could quite do with not having any more related to my car which I would rather looked like a Mondeo. I would not criticise those who like a supercar for attention seeking, but my idea of the gentleman I would strive to become is one who gives attention to others.
