Quite common mate. I always snowfoam a car after machine polishing to remove the polishing dust. It's just a sign of the polish being broken down correctly. If you want to prolong it's life before it starts to dust then spray the pad with a bit of qd or even water and you'll find it will take longer.
I always use Menzerna compounds and find they're It's not as bad as others
Autoglym HD wax is a good product. On a black car I'd personally go for Zaino Z2, then Z6 and lastly a couple of coats of Z8

Can the Zaino products be hand applied or they better with a machine?
Thanks for the reply fella and looking a some of your work they look

Zaino is perfect by hand mate.
Very very thin and even coat of z2 first. Leave 20 minutes or so to dry. Buff off with a clean microfibre. Using the z5 to help remove any stubborn bits. Then 1-2 coats of z8 to really enhance the gloss.
There's a few videos on YouTube to give you an idea how little product you need to use.

And another Honda NSX. This one was a three day correction detail.
It'd been very poorly looked after by it's previous owner and had spent most of it's life at the local car wash and was in a VERY poor state when it arrived. 2 Solid days of machine correction with the Rupes Bigfoot and Menzerna compounds brought it back round.
2 coats of Dodo Juice Purple Haze Pro & 1 coat of Dodo Juice Supernatural Hybrid used as LSP

Nice reading this thread Boyd.
I've never seen a Ford GT, yet you have detail 2 lol....where do they hide?
I do hope you get a unit to work from at some point, be brilliant to do that as a full time job.
All the best for the new year mate

Actually done four for the same client now
More to come hopfully early next year. Can't really say who the client is but they service and sell more than any other dealer in the UK. They're amazing up close, very large and with a sports exhaust on sound amazing. Make a Blitz Nur Spec sound subtle lol.
Unit is still my priority tbh it's just a matter of finding something the right size for the right price.

hmmm, do you think if you get one to work on over a weekend you could keep me in mind to maybe pop over and have a peek?
Like you said in earlier posts, units are very dear.....but once your business grows its the next logical step.

£9k a year I'd never make it pay even if I went full time. Not with tax insurance business rates etc etc
Found a few local to me which are more basic but cheaper. Going to look into it once new year is out of the way.

The GTs are all done at the clients unit so unlikely to have one here I'm afraid Darren. Shame though

Yep Gtechniq I1 or 303 Fabric Guard will both work fine. Easy to do yourself. Just mask off the surrounding area and spray an even coat over the soft top. Leave somewhere warm (preferably in the sun) for 5-6 hours to fully cure.
Try not to get it wet for the first 24 hours

Loving your work, truly impressive!!! I have just bought a black Hawkeye and it definitely needs work on the paint as it is black and has what look like quite deep swirl marks, any idea how long you would need it for to sort and cost?

LOTS of machine correction will bring most paintwork back. It's always difficult when you have to balance correction against the amount of paint you have to work with. Lots of checking the paint depth gauge in between sets of machine work
