Please, stop trying to make it a debate. It isn't one. This is a process of Law now. There are plenty of online versions for you to read if you don't like mine. Cheers.
Not sure why you're being so sour about it as you didn't explain anything in your earlier posts! I'm not debating the Law as it's obviously far too complex for mere mortals like me to understand ... what I did mention though was how/why one persons word vs anothers is good enough to convict. Still contend that the bit in bold above is frightening though ...

On that point I'll leave you sucking your lemons.

Clifford probably has more legal savvy than the rest of them put together. CPS are going to have to have a pretty cast iron case if they are going to charge him. dl

Countered by the swathes of people who would love to see him brought to book. Could be a bit of a can of worms.

And a Jury of course, I did jury service a few years ago the frightening thing is if a few people on the jury are lacking in common sense you are screwed! (we had 5 on ours that were as thick as **** and wanted to argue innocence even when the evidence was plain to see just because they had a chip on thier shoulders about the system!

I reckon though, that if they were going to charge Clifford, they'd have done the investigations behind closed doors, as per Stuart Hall. The fact they've arrested him is probably because they don't have enough to charge him, and an interview will just get them a folder full of no comments. I'd be surprised if it goes any further. But the slur will stick.

That me well be the case - but the guys reputation is trashed!
Will be good to see how effective his PR machine is in this instance.
Couldn't happen to a nicer hypocrite IMO.

Saw Stuart Hall the other day, he drives one of those big Citroens that nobody bought, was funny as I thougth I hadnt seen him in ages and then he drives past, he lives locally and I have met him a couple of times as his grandson knows my youngest, always been a big fan, always thought he was one of the good guys. If he has done such things then he should face trial but it sort of doesnt fit, Savile wasnt a huge surprise but I dotn know Stuart Hall, just his public persona.

At 82 that cant be good for the health, hope whoever is levelling these allegations is sure.

Bit of a whiff of McCarthyism about all this now. Anyone guilty should be charged of course, but who next?

I think it is best to wait until a court case decides whether they are guilty or not. Its a lot safer anyway.
