Your case is a bit different Maz.
Correct me if I'm wrong of course, don't you still have your ecu which could be mapped and enjoyed right away.
However your mapper has advised you wait for the upgrades before they map it, not realising that the particular type of ecu you have (A 99 with the GC8 AVCS expander) will be the last of the ecus to receive the upgrade, due to the low volume they were made in.
You haven't been left without a car you can't drive, so I'm not sure I understand exactly what your delay is ?
I have already explained all this via PM, so please be patient as things like this don't do anyone any favours.

Forgot about this
just thought id add the answer in case anyone else finds this thread with similar issues.
As Bob said, the map change via the accelerator is a known issue and is very temperamental, fixed with a switch.
The other issue I had with the boost dropping off;
When the accelerator was 100% pressed down for some reason the ecu thought it was 104% pressed down which it turn was causing a problem when putting my foot to the floor. Pat at Api fixed this for me in a second.

In reality, both issues above were down to a user/programmer error or faulty throttle pot, not a problem with the ecu which is good to know

Delays are still horrendous and communication is non-existant at best. Personally if your car runs and works, then I wouldn't bother - take it from someone who has been waiting months and getting nowhere. (and before posts are made, that was going through a mapper as Alcatek have requested).

I did this a couple of days ago and have got a date in Feb. I understand much of the backlog has cleared and the turnaround is a week or so, not months, they must have been swamped earlier on with ecu's coming from all dirctions.
I'm sending mine direct and paying for it through Duncan who maps my car.

I had a call from Martyn at Enginetuner earlier to say my ECU was now back with him, after having the Alcatek upgrade carried out.
The upgrade programme certainly seems to be getting quicker, I can't wait to try it out with the Toucan.

I am getting my customers ecu's upgraded with a turn around of about two weeks including those from abroad. Its a matter of process, if an ecu is sent back with the right information attached and progressed to a plan then AlcaTek do their very best to achieve it, its when ecu's are sent back "ad hoc" that delays happen as often no info has been provided.
I helped a new customer out recently in this respect he had been waiting even longer but with some constructive input the situation was resolved.
