Sad news
Shocked to come across this thread. I spoke with Harvey a few times on the phone the last only being a few months back when he was very positive about recently getting out of hospital. He was a great man to deal with and as many have said was always happy to offer his qualified opinion and wanted nothing in return. His insight and honesty will be missed. My thoughts and best wishes to your and your family Dawn.

Very sad news. 
I have spoken to him a few times over the years, and he was always willing to give up his time to help anyone out.
A great loss to many, many people.

As soon as I saw the thread title my heart sank a bit as I guessed there was bad news coming.
So sorry to hear your sad news Dawn; Harvey was a well known and well respected member of the Subaru community, and he will be missed by many.
I spoke to Harvey several times over the Years and he was always willing to have a chat and share his knowledge and experience.

Spoke to Harvey via email and telephone on a few occasions. A true gentleman. Always had plenty of time to share his vast knowledge and always willing to help with problems.
You will be missed!

am really sorry to hear this my thoughts go out to u and your family.. harvey was a great guy i hadnt known him long but he was always on hand for a chat and helping hand.. will be missed

OMG! so sorry for your lose Dawn, 
i don`t frequent this website perhaps as much as i should but i will never forget the advice given to me by Harvey both by pm and phone he was always a true English gent and a very knowledgable and proffesional engineer he will be oh so missed by this commnuity. RIP Harvey.

I never spoke or did any business with Harvey but his reputation for being a top guy and a great Scoobynet support always made me pay attention to his point of view and advice.
He will be very much missed, All the best to his family.

Hello Dawn, it is very Sad to hear of Harveys loss. I had the pleasure of meeting Harvey and yourself and driving to Darlington about 8 years ago, Harvey and Paul worked on my first scoob, he was a real pioneer in the UK for performance tuning of the impreza, and a real big character on the scene who will be greatly missed.
I remember the story he told me over our chippy lunch about when he was a Pilot and used to fly the Queen and the Royals, not a lot of people know that, funny how certain things stick.

Sorry to hear this. I never personally knew Harvey but he did share his knowledge throughout the scoobynet and we spoke occasionally through pm.

Harvey was a good friend of not only me, but APi in general. He was larger than life and all the guys at APi know him well and enjoyed some banter with him. we enjoyed his visits, he had a free run of the works and could pop up anywhere talking to any of the guys. We'd sit and swap tales for a while, whilst conducting business on a friendly but competitive scale.
He was very helpful to me over many years and he is one of the very few people that l can genuinely say made my life better, not just in work but life in general.
He would nod wisely now if he could hear me saying that we didn't always agree and never once did it make any difference to our relationship. That is the mark of a true gentleman, that he can put business differences aside and carry on a conversation as if nothing had been said.
I will miss his visits and his phone calls, which were always a challenge, if only because he could throw anything at you to do with Subaru in general. I'd like to think I helped him occasionally, but know for sure that the scales weigh more heavily from him to me than the other way.
I / we will miss him as will anyone that ever wanted help with their Subaru.

never met or spoke to him as only been on the scene for a few weeks but reading all the messages of shock and sadness of this im sure he touched everybody . my thoughts to his family . and rip harvey
