Just went for a little change Jon after the new radio went in and the red hazard switch stood out like a red saw thumb

Jake have you got the bonding materials at your place? Need someone to treat the lips of my arches then bond the extensions on when I get them back from Ryan

Finally managed to track down a mint bonnet in the same colour to replace mine which had the dreaded finger mark/dents at the front

The offending item removed

And the new one on best £50 I've spent on the car since I bought it

Really pleased with it as it always annoyed me seeing the dents

Putting the pieces back

Finally

Top vent will be off to see Frayz with a couple of switches so watch this space lol

Also have this to go on as part of another plan

Thanks Jon was thinking about sending this inlet to Ry before I put it on but I may just get some new gaskets and put it on after a clean.

Did think about it Dan but then the aim was just to tart the inside up a little and put the extra cash towards some more exterior work will eventually change to the new style but if the idea me and Frayz have had with this vent works then ill be loving the interior better so will be sticking with it

Thanks Craig

Slowly slowly does it now not in a mad rush plus funds don't allow to go silly anymore

Had a very good chat with Alyn today what a top bloke he is. We spoke in detail about engine builds and he gave me some sound advice to have a think about to decide which route would best suit me and the funds I'd have to play with. Hopefully when I come to a decision this thread will move more towards the build and less cosmetic stuff

There's various types out there made from different material but they're designed to stop heat soak from the block into the manifold keeping the inlet temps down.

Some people have reported to 10mm ones result in the manifold sitting too high but that I think is more on classics. When considering the cost remember you'll save the expense of new gaskets as the o-ring options are self sealing. I have a set of the Carl Davey ones to go on mine

we do Phenolic ones as another option Martin, although they are more of a gasket than a spacer (of which we also do various types)

Really think its worth the money Jon? I was thinking of just putting a new gasket in for a Tenner lol. Reason I'm changing the inlet is to free up some features from the new open source rom where I can go maf less with anti lag etc etc. my aim is to save enough pennies for a re build towards the end of the year so the inlet would just be a temporary thing.

With our long chat today Alyn I totally forgot to ask you about a gasket although the advice you gave me was excellent so don't mind calling you back tomorrow
