TBH I have not made my mind up so was putting my feelers out. Not really got the funds yet anyway as I have just purchased some Tein lowering springs & need to get them fitted.

Thanks for the alternative Mr TT & I agree it certainly looks good

another alternative is the hawkeye sti roof vane but will require drilling

the carbon spoiler is subtle and very good quality and bonded on so can be removed.

or the best (worst) of both worlds , theres a roof vane with sonic spikes looked a good job. They come cheaper than this one though !

don't listen to tubby, if you like them, get them

tubby, you say imprezas will be returned to std. how will you remove the burger flap? did the hawkeye rear roof spoiler come as std on your blobeye? didn't think so

you take the p1ss out of people for fitting something 'non standard' then go and do exactly the same thing your self

your sticker describes you perfectly. stickers are for c**ts and you've got a sticker

Theory (1)
They were designed for rally cars ( quick ones)
When you go in a straight line air flows over the car onto the rear wing giving downforce
But when a rally car corners (mostly sideways) obviously the air flow is not directed from the front onto the rear Wing
The air is coming more from a side angle thus not hitting the rear wing
So the Fins channel a small amount of sideways air onto the rear wing thus giving a little more down force during cornering

Theory (2) official reason

drag , some cars suffer from air flow seperation which can cause drag , the vortex generator reduces this interrupted air flow and thus reduces drag

I don't think either will have a noticeable effect to warrant sticking one on
But I'm not Mitsubishi

So like I say no point on a road car but I suppose a small gain on quick rally cars

Not totally true, roof fins has been developed mainly for EVO boys

This should help

http://www.mitsubishi-motors.com/cor...004/16E_03.pdf

But main reason behind this is increasing the downforce on the 8-9,not sure on the X

Updating it when you posted mate , I've seen the Mitsubishi description before , I've also read a lot of folk saying the first theory
Like I say Mitsubishi say it works but i can't see it having much effect even on an evo , not that your gonna notice

While we're on the subject of cosmetic changes what are peoples opinions on changing standard parts i.e splitter, spoiler for carbon fibre? (Keeping the same style and shape as oem, just replacing with carbon rather than plastic)

Is this regarded as chav and tacky? Or is it a bit more acceptable?

I like carbon myself , I've got a carbon scoop
Roof fins ( vortex generator ) carbon mirrors , carbon wing Infills
On a silver bug , all the bits were on the car when I brought it
And I like it tbh
Your gonna get many opinions on what's chav but if you like it , that's all that matters
