Looks really good. Which paint code did you use?

Hey guys, completley forgot to update this thread after getting my wheels done.

I had them powder coated in a candy bronze colour after searching for ages and checking out different shoops to see what they could do.

Some of the pics look kinda golden due to the camera used and the lighting etc but I have tried to add multiple pictures to give you a idea of what it looks like.

Absolutely what I was looking for and looks amazing IMO.

Let us know your thoughts.
Thanks guys.

I think it was f750 or something like that. I just gave my painter the name and code I found and they were able to match it.

Hi all,

I was looking for 'the right" bronze for ages until reading this thread where I found the fiat 750 code. I gave the company refurbing my wheels the colour code and showed them a few pictures from this thread. Long story short, I went to collect them last night and they were almost orange. Completely nothing like any of the pics here. I didn't take a picture as my phone was dead, but they said they'd done a gold base coat and one coat of the fiat 750, to which I said this is completely wrong.

They've agreed to have 'another go', but now I'm pretty worried they'll mess it up again - what base colour is best for this paint code? And how many layers are ideal to build up the colour? Many thanks

Sounds like they screwed up. I always put a black base coat down on mine before spraying 2 coats of the bronze. They always look spot on. Certainly wouldn't use a gold base and a single coat of Fiat 750. Nope. If you can to 3 coats of bronze over the black base then this is also good. Gives a slightly deeper bronze.

Yeh I actually really liked my PPF7's in bronze. They stayed on the car when I sold it years ago.

Did you use a matt lacquer on these? Or how did you finish them to get the matt effect. Look great.

I didnt used lacquer. I think even matt lacquer will make them go dark brown, so i will let them like this till friday. Then i will mount them on my civic haha

They look great. I may opt to just base coat mine.

I already have some of this paint mixed up, but it's single coat gloss.

I recently did a set of Clio wheels in the Fiat 750 colour. Think they suit the car well, and am tempted to get a spare set of wheels and do them for the same colour for the Evo

It's a really good match. I used to use the Fiat 750 paint to touch up stone chips and a kerb mark on my old XXR factory bronze wheels.

I'll give it a try , should be grand though as the emblems are far enough away i don't think it'll be obvious

My wheels are satin bronze powdercoat.
So tried Halfords , they were useless without a paint code (they wanted make and model of car etc).
Then went to local motor factors. They had every Fiat colour except the one mentioned above but the one below was good enough for my purposes.

Interesting. I have mine painted, have the STI lettering done , and fully intend to satin lacquer them tonight but have the same fear that I'll somehow mess it up.
Wouldn't bother me sanding and repainting but the STI is filled with paint now and only paint stripper will sort that out if i need to start over ! So i can only imagine how gutted you are on a set of wheels.

I wouldn't bother with lacquer. It'll be fine.

Decided to lacquer after doing a quick test (so quick the masking tape peeled the pain off)
Thanks for the paint code heads-up (though this is slightly different code) and the inspiration BPR

Left is bare paint, right is satin lacquer.

Before lacquer

Lacquered and fitted
