The red hazard swich is the painfull part of this mod... it's not cheap, one of the guys near me picked it up from the states online for £30 
that was painfull but quite integral to getting this looking right. You can also get them from Japanparts, not sure of the price... again the Yen against Sterling has hit it hard. Maybe someone reading this can advise as well on this?? I'll look around for a part nmber I've seen it on a thread recently.

The gator is attached only by the metal pop stud, if you simply unpop that stud it will open and lift off after removing the gear **** itself. If you check out 16/17 on this link http://www.iwsti.com/forums/how-inst...t-install.html it shows you a little more detail and how to remove the gator completely that was quite easy really, the metal ring is one that comes off then underneath the gator is clipped in with retaining lugs, you compress the gator and it unclips.
The vents took me a few minutes to suss out, they are clipped in on one way lugs, 2 on the bottom and one on the top, if you look at point 14 on the link it shows you the single lug. I used a small electrical screwdriver to lift them apart, I'm trying to find the easiest wat to decribe it... maybe a hook over a retaining lug..... I found the 2 underneath to be the best one's to inclip then the vent rotates away lifting it off the top one. Use the screwdriver to lift the hooks on the vent off the retaining lug on the surround, a bit awakward but just take your time.

My best advise on this is to remove the console a couple of times and have a good look first, I am know way handly with taking cars apart trust me even though it may not look that way.... I used a small plastic tool I had with a Brodit mount to assist which you could replicate but taping a couple of old credit cards together maybe... you will need that where the arrows are on point 6 above to help seperate it. I removed mine firstly to have a look then secondly to fit my PSI monitor, 3rd time was when a mate fitted my radio but they were all partial removals and not fully out, the fourth time I stripped it all out each panel I broke down one at a time as I removed it with the srews all set aside seperately so I knew what went where when I dropped it all back in. Be carefull of the dash as it will mark very easy.
The secret is to take your time and go through it step by step, I'd take it apart partially and gain a little understanding before the strip down that worked for me.

i noticed there are tiny grommit screws either side of the reverse lifter collar, so that must be it. I have no idea why mine is different to everyone elses though

Got my box of paint yesterday
Looking at the tech sheet of the paint it say good for up to 200ºF (just under 100ºC) so I'm wondering how good it will be for intercooler pipes, oil catch can and my RCM induction kit trumpet

I got a run on one part, but let it dry, peeled it off, then sprayed it again. Wish normal painting was that easy!

I like that I know it's odd stuff compared to normal paint.... One tip if you mark it slightly like a finger nail scrape spray some on an off cut of card and paint it over the mark with a small brush very lightly as it covers the mark a treat apparently

Then following on from a discussion in the Interior modification section one of the guys posted a link to an American site which sells decals to go over the controls so I sent away for a set.
