Rally Tech Tow Hook, Slam Panel and Battery Ties
It wouldnt need to be as substantial as you think and there would be a weight saving. If you look at the way the bracket is mounted sandwiching the two alloy parts between the factory tow eye, all the stress when the car is towed is taken by the forward bolt and the material around its fixing holes. While I agree there should be no drama's with this an alloy plate mounted to the fixing holes in the factory triangular bracket or even better mounted to the chassis with the triangular bracket removed would provide a much stronger attachment than the current set up especially if being towed backwards out of a gravel trap as I have been in the past.
I understand but the cost of machining a part like that would be huge. You're talking about a massive billet of aluminium and I don't think many people would be willing to pay out like 100 pounds for a tow hook.
Well I decided it'll fit fine without the factory tow hook and will be fine in my circumstance as it's purely cosmetic and will never actually be used to tow, hopefully!
Just attached it to the factory tow hook location and seems fine...

What do you think?

Can I suggest you all PM ironbridge direct as this GB is old now and as far as I know it has concluded. His prices are good anyway but if you PM him he may do something for you
