Yay got there in the end.

Totally agree the 2.5 does give good torque figures.

My forged 2.5 build delivered 565ft/lb it was brutal.

Im a big fan of a properly built 2.5 as mentioned my last one was awesome. I had an SC Billet 35R and that combination with AVCS heads was ballistic.

I am however about to build a 2.1 stroker with all the trimmings as I really fancy seeing what one of those is like.

I wish I'd have seen my other project through because that is going to make a fantastic sprint car.

I'm going to try a race fuel map in the new year with a new AlcaTek fitted.

Should be interesting.

Im toying with the idea of fitting some big port JDM AVCS heads next year to try and improve the spool and torque figure as only standard STi v5 heads fitted at present,i tried to purchase the heads off the engine i have now but he wouldnt let them go.

I will let you know in January.

My 2.35 which was meant to be built for 700+hp decided to poo itself before xmas at below 600

I'm throwing a JDM Sti 9 bottom end with Sti 8 Avcs heads in for now. All standard. Wont be pushing it too far though as I can't afford to blow this one up as well.

General spec will be:

JDM Sti 9 bottom end with Sti 8 uk heads
Rotated Billet 30
3.5" exhaust
ID2000cc injectors
FMIC
Bosch 044
Syvecs S6GP
JDM 6 speed DCCD
20% meth

Damn shame about your 2.35 buddy,i personally dont think a rotated billet 30 will work on any 2.0ltr engine as it just doesnt have the displacement to bring it to life, the 2.1 seems to be the perfect rotated billet 30 companion.

It may make a decent headline figure but im certain you wont like the slow laggy spool and the lazy way it will drive on the road, let us know if you find the cause of the 2.35 failure,i hope you get it sorted mate.

Head gaskets failed. Probably as a result of the pistons hitting the heads. Hopefully the internals are ok and it's just a case of transferring them into a new block.

The 2.0ltr is a stop gap to get her up and running again until March/April when a new 2.35 will go in.

Have to say I've convinced myself re the performance difference so I wont be disappointed. A 30 on a 2.35 makes for a awesome car. The new engine will only be run at around 400-450 max but it's a better option than to have it sat in the garage for 3-4 months unusable.

Be interesting to see how it performs anyway, don't think there is another rotated set up on a standard engine on here is there?

They pretty hardy motors, bet it will be fun when it gets going

Mines rotated but no graphs as I'm having to run nancy boost ATM due to still having the standard 752 box for now.

sti 8 engine, sti 3 heads, rotated gt3076 .82 housing, walbro 290lph, 740cc injectors, 3 inch exhaust, gt spec headers, syvecs ecu JGM mapped, vpower + 15% meth and boost was tapered until peak power to keep torque down
