I haven't even picked mine up yet bt the mrs is already sick of it, me talking about, talking about what I want to do to it and then I get the "how much is all that going to cost..." which then escalated into her completely blowing her top!! So I'm totally looking forward to bringing it home on Sunday...I expect to be single by Monday haha

My Paul is an Evo follower and has never really liked scoobies . but i am lucky as he appreciates them as a car and supports me in my love for them.

Told her I was going to Scoobyspares tomoz for an exhaust & all I got was: And how much is that gonna cost when I am trying to cut down?

Just no appreciation of what it takes to run a Scoob!

Mine hates the type r with a passion and calls it the" j lop " amongst other things, she thinks the Blob WRX wagon is much nicer, but is quite supportive of me and my cars as long as the bills are paid and there is food on the table, every so often when i start looking at new cars she rolls her eyes and says we have enough vehicles, 5 in total, lol.

She said i can have another motor bike, i recon it's because i'm heavily insured and she wants rid of me. she is a biker herself and used to go to the pod before i met her, and did a few runs on her honda 400 four back in the day.

She's been insured on mine for several years now and people double-take whenever she drives it. When i was thinking about selling she talked me out of it and instead persuaded me to have a "project". She also clicked on the pay now button on paypal when i ordered my pistons as i couldn't bring myself to do it.

As an added bonus she's 5ft9, size 10, blonde and blue eyed

My wife is pretty understanding. Wouldn't say she loves my car but she enjoys driving it .

She was great late last year when mine was off the road for almost 6 weeks due to problems and had to spend some of my Xmas money on the car rather than her. So thankful for her for that.

Think part of the reason why I've still got the car is due to our little ones love it.

I'm sure Alan, like me, has seen it all before!
Blimey, I've been married longer than most of you guys have been alive and I've been through it all!
The earache when first married (Capri 1600GT Although I did give up hillclimbing and sprinting a Mini) then when the kids came along it wasn't the cars anymore - I took up R/C model flying which was even more time consuming! More earache Eventually, the wife got her horse and then one for my daughter. So me and my son would be flying R/C and the other two down the stables - good arrangement!
The kids have grown and the horses (inc. a purebreed Adalusian stallion) have gone and I don't fly R/C any more but I do have the Scoob in my retirement.
Neither of us really know how much the other spent on our hobbies but I did have to keep a crafty eye on how many loans she took out to feed the horsey passion.

JohnD

PS Alan, were you a Mod in your youth?

Au contraire... YOU are the expert when it comes to everything plugs-based.

mines very understanding, she sees the car as part of me and encourages me to keep it. It helps that her engagement present to me was my greddy splitter, so if the car goes so dos part of the wedding and that would make my life hell so it stays and i can do what i want

She told me the exhaust is the last thing you buy for it for some time, saw the group buy on here & just ordered mud flaps.

Hope she doesn't ask me if I have purchased any other bits!!

I remember getting back from Zen rather late after having MD321H, full Milltek exhaust, ported headers, Hyperflow CAI, 650cc inj., catch tank and re-map and she said "How much was that" "A bit over a grand" I said, I could hear my son giggling in the next room! We've all done it?

Funny that is Tony!
Luckily my mrs is spot on, and loves the cars more than I , you'll know that having met the crazy woman,
However when it comes to spending money, that's a slightly different story, we have a joint bank account, so she knows every penny and where it's gone.

But I've found that if I want something and she questions it I just say " do you want to go on the tunnel run then or not"
