I think the point being made was that Owen reached that point through playing too much football too early and not the fact he knackered himself whilst wearing the lfc colours. He's said as much himself.

I'd like Rooney to stay actually and move into an offensive midfielder Scholes/Cantona hybrid type role, but we'd still need a defensive midfielder then as Carrick, good though he is, hasn't got the snap required IMHO
Nice of Becks to gee Ronnie up before Tuesday " I think Cristiano will be really inspired by coming back to Old Trafford...". Oh good, thanks mate
I've already got butterflies - should be a belter either way

I see Giggsy has signed a one year extension , the legend goes on and on
I still remember his debut and thinking he could play for us for the next 17 years and here we are in season 23 !!
Stunning

Nice - prawn sandwiches, I assume ( well someone is going to say it)
Amazing re Giggs - 23 years in the first team at MUFC and still making a difference. We won't see that too many times in our lifetimes in any club, never mind a leading team.

Tbf I think he will be more than gee’d up after scoring 2 against Barca on Tuesday and dumping them out of the Copa del Rey.

They play each other again this weekend though, so I'm hoping that result is reversed and hopefully he gets a (non serious) injury that keeps him out of the next game. It would be helpful if di Maria collects a knock too

Bye bye Man Ure, definate red card studs to the chest will get you sent off 9/10 times.
Just proves what i've been saying all year that the EPL has gone right down hill, Arsenal out next week and thats the worst CL since 1996 for the UK.

I'm a Spurs fan and wanted to see ManU win tonight. It was a very harsh sending off. However, considering it was Nani, who's not above rolling around play acting effectively cheating, I'm not as concerned as I would have been at the refs choice of red.

Moz, this is what I've been saying. Same as last year, 'exciting' for the neutral but neither Manchester team wanted to win it. Bad division, better to look to the Championship for good, competitive football.

Roy Keane was bang on the money, dangerous play and an instant red card, there is no argument. You lead with a foot above waist high and catch another player then it's a red. Ferguson was hilarious running down the steps flapping his arms like an utter ****.

Lol what a donkey, what has 20 titles got to do with a red card if he tries to control the ball with a high foot it's dangerous play and catching another player = red card. Ferguson and Utd want to try learning the rules of football before saying how bad the ref was.
