Oh well - it's one way of finding out if Ronnie really does want to come back...

We couldn't afford him even if he did want to come back

Good draw all round, some nicely matched ties for once.

Oh and the van persie thing,, epic, williams clearly miss kicked that as it came off the outside of his boot, so chill out and let the ref do his job

Manchester United striker Robin Van Persie has been rushed to a hair salon for emergency treatment after suffering what experts have described as ‘severe ruffling’.

Players and supporters looked on in shock as Van Persie’s hair was left looking limp and lifeless after being hit by a ball struck by Swansea defender Ashley Williams.

Fortunately a hairdresser, who was amongst the crowd, was allowed on to the pitch to apply some emergency jojoba and recommend a diet consisting of nuts and essential omega-3 fatty acids.

Both sets of supporters were united in their support for Van Persie’s hair as it received treatment.

“It’s at times like this that you realise how unimportant football can be,” revealed Swansea fan Huw Watson.

“Results pale into insignificance when there’s twenty thousand people praying for a footballer’s hair to show some signs of life.”

Speaking in his post-match interview, United boss Sir Alex Ferguson lambasted Swansea defender Ashley Williams, and called for the player to be punished with a lengthy ban.

“Their player has shown a total disregard for hair care,” he insisted.

“If there hadn’t been a hairdresser in the stadium then we could have been talking about something much more serious.”

“We can only hope that Robin’s hair will respond positively to pentapeptides.”

“I would urge clubs to ensure that their physios carry Triple Resist shampoo enriched in Arginine and protein as part of their kit, so that future tragedies can be averted.”

Merry Christmas to my Manchester United supporting amigos. No hard feelings felt or meant for the years ribbing both ways!!

One thing though, the malt has gone to Ferguson's head with his latest rant.

Merry Christmas again!

I think he's been smoking the same s**t as addi.

RvP could have been injured, but killed is a bit of a stretch - although I'm far from convinced that Fergie actually believes that himself of course.

Tell you what, I wouldn't fancy getting hit on the back of the head with a ball launched at full pelt from that distance.

You wouldn't be dead though. In Fergies thinking, it you got hit on the head by a ball in the sixties, your head would disintegrate. How those poor goalposts managed, I don't know.

It's another of those cringeworthy moments he comes out with from time to time, as soon as you hear the words come from his mouth you just think Oh No why did you say that, think of the fans and the ribbing we're going to get from our mates and the forums.

Usually one a year with SAF

I'll forgive him as its Christmas. My gran started having these 'faux pas' moments more and more often. SAF will need to se a doc soon if it carries on, he is losing the plot.

As opposed to every time with Addi.

Merry Christmas all - just the 6 feet of snow here in the French Alps and everything is still moving! Amazing.

Only saw highlights on MOTD. I am just glad we have kept another clean sheet as well as keeping the scoring rate up. Little Pea and RvP should really have had hat tricks. 4-0 twice over Wigan this seasons goes someway to making up for the 1-0 loss last season but plenty of life left in the league yet.

We're always beating them 4-0 must be at least 5 times now. RVP and Chicarito looked a fine pairing.

Lose Rooney and spend the money on a defensive Midfield and a creative midfielder.

I think Rooney may be our creative midfielder over time - he could play behind the front two. A quick Scholes if you want... Evans looked handy and quick too - which isn't something you can say too often!
Defense still needs looking at though - Rio is creaking, and Vidic may or may not get back to his best, while Evans, Smalling and Jones haven't ever really convinced me yet as first choicers.

Trouble is, you never beat them 4-0 last season when it really mattered

Hopefully Sunday's game will be a good one, and preferably without incident from fans of both sides.
Especially as I'm going to it

Amazing player, best make the most of the 2nd half of the season, as I'm sure it will be his last.
