Of course you even run your classic wrx on 95 so if i were you i would fit a ks3/knocklink, it may enlighten you (and show you how nice the red/high level of det you get on 95 ron fuel on an early classic jdm).
Roll on the mappers, they will just confirm that new age STI (type uk) will happily det on 95 ron fuel, especially if pushed.

classic wrx really
sorry to correct you yet again tony but im affraid i do not own a classic anymore

oh and just to add to that NPS issue iirc there was also several other members commented on that thread whom also confimed there was a nps on a classic .

infact to add a tad more to this tony you must be one sick mother mate, have you been stalking me as you seem to know what i have and have not drove/owned do you like men ? do you find me attractive ? this is well strange ,, by the sounds of it tony you have been stalking the wrong guy as all your facts about me seem to be a load of bull

guys i joined this forum for a bit of help, not to have members having a total go at each other, every forum is the same these days, there are soo many people with big egos that cant take a bit of banter or take things too personal. stick to talking about subarus and not slandering each other.
does anyone on here run a 5-10% meth mix? according to my research it will takr 95 ron to near 100 but i should have the car mapped if im running 10%. i can buy it on ebay in a 45 gallon drum and could pop 5 mile down the road and fill with 95, then drive like a granny up to my yard and fill with 5 litres of meth, this should allow me to get an sti over a wrx?
let me know your thoughts

Honestly? I'd contact a mapper on here and ask them as otherwise you'll always get half a dozen conflicting opinions. Being a newbie to the forum you can only go by what people say but if/when you hang around you'll know what's good advice and what's not

Lots of good mappers on here who I'm sure would give you their take on things re. your concerns.

Dont let me and tony bother you mate its only banter
As chocolate o tool says stick around and one of the mappers will add thier views, there will always be a split opinion on most things subaru but what you need to do is take in all the info and use it the best way you can

Personally i would not run an STi on anything other than momentum99 or v-power. If i had to use 95 or any % of meth i would have the map adjusted to suit.

Always air on the side of caution.

Shame you have no brain
You seem to be stalking me and not the other way round, even in the man utd threads, you are one sick puppy, you need to see a doctor, and you still know sweet fa about subaru's, think ive forgotten more than you ever knew
Just seems you are one of the scoobynet idiots we get on here from time to time, learn about the car, what fuels they can run on safely, how they should be serviced, who should service them properly, and dont give crap information out like you spout, you could cost this guy 2.5k for a new engine if he took your advice (hope he doesnt, save him a packet )

I've put 2 tanks of 95 through my Import 1995 WRX and everything seems to be going ok so far.

Should I switch to 97 though?

You can run it on 97 mate as from 1993-1997 they never had 100 Ron fuel in Japan at the pumps so the cars ran on the available which was 97ron.for the price of super unleaded though its better to put Tesco 99 momentum in.

How much does tesco fuel set you back. I'm not really happy paying £1.30 per litre already

Don't think any of us are happy paying what we do for petrol

But it's been said before, for the sake of a few pence per litre - it's not worth an engine rebuild

It's about £1.379 here for Momentum in Scunny. Both Shell garages have recently shut down so Bob Rawle mapped me for Tesco's finest Keep the clubcard points for Xmas

It says this for either the WRX or STI with PPP ...

"To obtain maximum benefit from the package, we recommend continued use of Super Unleaded (97 RON) fuel"

so it seems that you can run either on 95 - I wouldnt, I always run my wrx w/ppp on 97 or higher but I wonder what loss of performance you get? I'm going to phone Prodrive and see what they actually say about 95!

anyone been running 95 for a while??

Ring Subaru too , ask them why they say in the book you can use 95 if people on here say the car will explode.

Paid 1.33 for some Momentum99 at New Oscott Extra. Was paying that for regular 95. Lets see if it makes any difference to the car.

My 2005 WRX PPP (now with 83k miles on it) has been running 95RON for 40+k miles, with absolutely no problems whatsoever.

Less performance and less MPG yes, but no reliability/det issues at all.

BTW, it's only on 95 due to me having a fuel card; it was always on V Power prior to that and if it was me paying for the fuel, it'd be back on V Power.

Just my tuppence worth..!

exactly. But i bet if your car blows up they will all say its because u used 95. It could also be a million other reasons ! Its in the book that 95 can be used , so dont see a problem.
